Considering how "happiness’ seems to be based on material possessions, ego stroking, power grabbing, and self serving hedonistic pleasures – traits not at all monopolized by the GOP and shared by some number of people from all ideologies, religions, and cultures, Mr. Luckovich isn’t entirely off the mark here.
    Get thee hence, Satan.
    Sadly,
    C.

    @Ms. Ima

Oh, yes, because when you think of Satan you think of Liberalism in the same way that Jesus was such a rock-ribbed conservative.
Perfect logic, Ms. Ima…if you’ve never read the Bible.

Now, I would never say that the GOP is the great satan, I’d never say that, but their policies speak for themselves, don’t they?

Wow, your liberal lens, straight from the white house desk.
    Sad, real sad,
Can’t beat them on ideas, can’t get people to run to you, so you must make the other guy look bad.
Democrat’s, the child on the play ground.

And Mr. Ima Ms. Ima—you troll. I will repeat it for you: Government spending is the LOWEST in over 60 years. Everyone: Google it and learn something.

Funny thing is Satan was the Angel of light till it fell. Satan is the best of the fallen Angels to make things look and seem pretty and beautiful and full of fluff and illusions and what ever you THINK you WANT.
Kind of like some politician. Empty suits who can speak and look good and what not. But the policies they present are pure poison. But hey, they have free stuff, they will double the welfare rolls and triple your unemployment and make the evil people who have give to those who want for themselves.
The Devil might as well call itself “prince of happiness” Cus anyone who says they can just dull out the happiness is a liar.

There’s a saying in 12-step programs that Republicans can’t recover. Recovery requires honesty, open-mindedness and the ability to admit error.

Yeah, tell everybody what Republicans’ issues were in the last election: Hatred for Obama and all things Democrat.
What did Republicans find so great about Romney? Uh, well, uh, he’s not Obama.

The GOP must FIRST do a lot of soul-searching and decide what they want to be. THEN and only then can they successfully rebrand themselves.
    *
They are a long way from knowing that today. They couldn’t even come together on the rebuttle to the State of the Union Address. What are their ideals and priorities? That of the GOP “establishment”? That of the Tea Party? That of the religious right? That of the NRA? Are they hawks? Do they want to scale back military spending?
    *
These are fundamental questions that MUST be answered before they can rebrand themselves. I think their party is just as likely to split into factions as it is to unify
