All the depicted names were HEAVY contributors to both Obama and the Demoncrat Party back in 2008, right on up through today.

Oh yes scooter, Bushco and McCain never got a nickel from them, right.

Just checked. Top 20 list of AIG recipents had barack obama and chris dodd tied for 1st place. Rest of list reads like a who’s who of leftist Demoncrats, with the laughable exception of the $59,000 they tossed at McCain as an obvious “Just in case the old fart wins we don’t want him to be pissed at us” sort of deal…
There was 2-3 other repubs listed as getting token amounts from AIG–like 5-7k each.
Pattern held true for the others, too. Huge amounts of cash to Demoncrats, token amounts to a few select repubs.
Funny how the leftist puppets who vote Demoncrat buy into the Demoncrat rhetoric that the GOP is the party of THE!!! RICH!!!, even as actual rich people mostly donate to the Dems. The GOP is a majority grass-roots small-donations Party, and has been since since the era of Reagan (Nixon was the last rich person’s GOP pick).

^ “The GOP is a majority grass-roots small-donations Party, and has been since since the era of Reagan (Nixon was the last rich person’s GOP pick).”
You are drinking KoolAid. Obama raised more money from individual contributors than any other presidential candidate in history. GOP = Big Business, and no amount of hateful ranting can change facts.

Most big corporations give to both parties, and they give more to the one who looks like he’s going to win. Nothing new about that. The GOP mastered the art of corporate donations first, but part of what led to Clinton’s success (and the fury he raised in the GOP) was his acquisition of the same techniques - and donors.

Can you name 2 of the top 10 wealthiest Americans who are Republicans?
Not easy, and you won’t find more. It is even worse with BIG BUSINESS CEO’s.
The fact is that BIG BUSINESS likes BIG LABOR and together they love BIG GOVERNMENT. It keep the pesky capitalists off their turf.

I thought big business is capitalist per se.

Well, Scott. Guess if there are “Demoncrats” there must also be “Repugnantcans.”
motivemagus said, about 1 month ago
Last I looked, petergrt, at least half of them are. The entire Walton family is on the list, for example.
And anyone who says that big business likes big labor really doesn’t know either one. Business in this country has been breaking the unions quite successfully for the last 20-30 years.

Citigroup, Goldman Sachs received bailouts under the Bush Administration. AIG received bailouts under the Bush administration, and the govt. took over majority interest under the Bush Administration. Some additional AIG guarantees occurred under Obama, but they began in Sept. 2008, with more money given in Oct., Nov. and Dec. 2008, with more guarantees made in 2009.
Where is the influence scott implies?

I worked at a penitentiary and it is a sad commentary when it seems half the population has the other half locked up. It’s not that bad statisticly but it seems that way. The money would be better spent in revitalizing high crime areas.

CSpan is good about showing the 3rd party candidates, but it would be so much if they could also be included in the debates. While their solutions might not work, they are worth listening too and considering.

Funny how cons say “small government” yet keep adding more departments of beuracracy to the government.
Nixon created the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to deal with drugs. How’s that war going?
George W. created Home Land Security in order to keep us safe. So far Osama is still running around out there plotting against the U.S.
And don’t get me started on corporations and BIG LABOR. Yeah! They love labor so much that they FIRED AMERICAN WORKERS and with the savings hired Chinese and Indians (from India) to do their jobs for them.
Petergrit you’re a dumb@ss!

The criminals who raped the economy, transferred the wealth out of the middle class and out of the country, and foreclosed on America, while borrowing from our public funds to create mergers, pay themselves obscene bonuses and buy back their own stock at bargain prices –good one!
