Meanwhile, on the other side of the street, people are working for a living.
…or trying to.

ANandy: No. The Atlanta Journal Constitution said about 7,000. And that was the largest. Every other party was smaller. Altogether, there appears to have been 306 “parties” at a total estimated count of 262k people.

See 538.com for a relatively comprehensive list. It’s not very impressive, really. There have been single marches on Washington that were larger.

Funny I keep hearing from those that were at these tea parties that more people showed up then was predicted. Yet the those that believe in cnn and other leftiues are running around with fingers in their ears.
The cool thing I know is that at at least one I have 1st hand knowledge about, a lot, over half, had some sort of pro FAIR TAX thing going on.
cool maybe there is hope..

The turn out far exceeded expectations in most locations. There would have been more, but, unlike the people who rally for leftwing causes, these people have jobs. The rally in Huntsville Alabama was 2-3k and was probably half democrats. The people I know who voted for BHO are being very quiet these days. They are also scared, but too embarrassed to say so. Jimmy Carter must be very happy. Soon, he will be the second worst president in the history of the country.

What amuses me about the “tea parties” is that the original Boston Tea Party people would be aghast at the use of their name for something so stupid as what these “tea party” people are going on about.
The original BTP was NOT about taxation.

What these ignorant folks seem to not understand is that the Boston Tea Party was about Taxation WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. Just because YOUR guys didn’t win does not mean that we don’t have a representative government. If you’re not happy, talk to your representative or vote ‘em out of office. Taxes are the cost of a civilized nation. Those who protest the loudest against taxes seem the least civilized, IMO.

^ I don’t think they are the least civilised, they just have different opinions.
They’re like Sooky; they don’t want fleas, but they don’T want baths. They don’t want rabbies, but they don’t want the shots either. They want milkbones, but they want to keep pooping on the carpet and humping people’s legs.
Sooky Rottweiler says;
HEY! Next time you mention that, you’ll have kiss internet wires goodbye, human.

I love Sooky. :-)

gbw, I am disappointed in your post. What happened? Usually, although you espouse positions I do not, I find you to be rational and measured in your posts.

Two things amused me about the tea parties:
1) Fox News calling them the “FNC Tea Parties”. At least Fox is very open about its bias.
2) The tea party they showed where a million bags of tea were delivered, to be wasted while the attendees decried excess spending!
Corosive Frog said, 7 months ago
And another thing; Sooky wants to hump people’s legs, but doesn’t want anyone to know about it.
Sooky Rottweiler says;
That’s it! I’m chewing those wires so bad, you’ll end up scooping them on our next walk.

harley - hear from whom? Of course they would spin it that way. A solid count is still about 260K people nationwide. You can interpret that as huge, or as small, which is what I do.
And gbw - cut the slander about lefties. Not only do they work, many work to provide services for low cost out of commitment to our society, as indeed Obama did as a community organizer, as opposed to the “why can’t I have ten million bucks” CEOs.
