I knew this would become an issue the moment it happened, but i was expecting some conspiracy theory about it being staged and so on. Because then i could have written “…these people are not very good at keeping secrets, what do you think would happen if that became public knowledge?”. Pity nobody is THAT crazy anymore, we need more Ted Cruzes and Michelle Bachmanns :-)

Douthat of the New York Times asked why, when the Obama campaign websites were the slickest, most professional, fastest, and smoothest of any campaign websites, the Obamacare website is less than stellar. He didn’t answer his own question.

Obviously, the campaign websites were more important to Obama (since people had the option of not donating and not voting for him) than the ACA website, where the 10% who have to use it have no choice.

Morty, there’s already “conspiracy theories” flying on the right-wing side. Ask soldiers about standing at attention, or most any large group of people, nervous people, locking up and fainting, like at high school graduation ceremonies, as just one additional example.

The problem was adding last minute changes and suddenly demanding loads of input before giving any answers. They should reverse that and set the system up to answer questions and wait until people want to sign up.
Wash state coputer has signed up 35,000 and another 50,000 or so people completed the forms but didn’t finalize it yet.

there’s plenty of BS on both sides – the real danger is putting everything in the hands of a government that can’t seem to run anything right!

Doc, I think it was because she locked her knees and started to faint. I’ve had troops do this while in formation. It happens. I get the amusement that Lester is trying to portray here (calling for the website instead of the doctor), but I don’t think it’s us that are making fun of a woman who has diabetes (didn’t even know that). After all, it was Obama who quipped, “That’s what happens when I talk too long,” right after she was hauled off the platform. Don’t try to paint this as our fault, or that we’re somehow heartless.

Good point and not my intent to make fun of a pregnant diabetic who flew cross country to be a plant in the Rose Garden. I think of her more as a “composite” of all of us.

Morning Doc , the lady was 20 weeks pregnant and had type 2 diabetes – you would think someone would know better than to stand her out in the sun for a photo op!

As a rebuttal to myself I happened to remember that I have had to bring big strong construction workers down from scaffolding because they got lite headed then panicked from the heights. It can happen to anyone!
