    Great toon!
    Who needs Bob “The Leftie” Costas giving a sermon about how we should follow his politically correct BS during halftime of a football game?
    So I guess it took his hero Barry to interject race (once again) for Bobby to suddenly realize how horrible his past silence was.
    Stick to the cheesy sports stories of overcoming obstacles and ice skating Bob.

    I see the pundits saying that “Redskins” is offensive, but I’ve seen no polls from American Indians saying “yea” or “nay” about being offended. There were some vociferous Seminoles in Florida that objected to a Florida university calling their team “Seminoles”, but, if memory serves, a poll of the Seminole Nation showed 85% approval or didn’t care if that university used their tribal name.

    We’ll get RIGHT on that just as soon as everyone in the nation with the last name of McVeigh and Nichols changes theirs.

    Ahhhh, did Obama change his name? What’s the point? Obama and Snyder have the ‘same’ motives? Lester, have you been getting enough sleep?

    Do you really think Obama was named for Sadam Hussein? Wow. That’s astounding.

    For the moron brigade: a lot of kids take their step-parent’s name, and as adults may choose their birth name instead. What’s interesting in our culture of “blended families”, it’s not uncommon to see families where the kids may be under as many as five or six different “last names”!

    @genome:

    1. The team’s name was changed in 1933 to pay homage to the then-head coach Lone Star Dietz, an American Sioux. I doubt if he objected.

    2. The highly respected Annenberg Public Policy Center polled nearly 1,000 self-identified Native Americans from across the continental U.S. and found that 90% of Native Americans did not find the team name ‘Washington Redskins’ to be ‘offensive.’

    3. In an April 2013 Associated Press survey, 79% of the respondents stated the Washington Redskins should not change their name, while only 11% believed the team’s name should change.

    Robert Green, the longtime and recently retired Chief of the Fredericksburg-area Patawomeck Tribe, said, among other things:

    “Frankly, the members of my tribe — the vast majority — don’t find it offensive. I’ve been a Redskins fan for years. And to be honest with you, I would be offended if they did change [the name, Redskins … This is] an attempt by somebody … to completely remove the Indian identity from anything and pretty soon … you have a wipeout in society of any reference to Indian people … You can’t rewrite history — yes there were some awful, bad things done to our people over time, but naming the Washington football team the Redskins, we don’t consider to be one of those bad things.”

    Sorry for the long post. But bottom line: most Native Americans aren’t offended by the “Redskins” name. Most other Americans aren’t either.

    As usual, the only ones making a fuss about it are the urban leftists in the professional victim classes.
