    If John McCain had won and then died, how would President Palin sound? I am sorry ultra conservatives, but I really do not think that Joe Biden would make that bad of a President.

    Whoa. Hold it, Lester. A REPUBLICAN study has appeared saying the GoP has shortcomings! Why, a few weeks back it was the Dems had all the shortcomings and the Repubs were simply – but only briefly -out manned (better make that out-womanned) by wily and nefarious trickster ‘takers!’ This IS news. The Uber Mensch acknowledge shortcomings! Word must have come down from The Rush Gold Standard Glen Fox Koch Nightly: change yer flipping tune.

    Excellent. Can’t wait to hear what Mr. Lester comes up with, you know, after praying to St. Ronnie of the Sinkhole for Further and Deeper Trickle Down…

    So….just a thought….
    If Hillary wins the nomination for the run in 2016…
    Can Joe be her VP? Or is the VP also limited to two terms.
    A 3-4 term run as vp would definitely get him into the history books.
    curiously,
    C.

    James Lipton interviewed Tina Fey on Bravo and it was hilarious.

    I think it was Clarence Page who said it best: Sarah Palin is certain about everything, but knows about nothing. Look up what she said about Paul Revere warning the British, and what she said when she was called on it, if you need just one bit of proof.

    Dan Quayle was impeachment insurance. Poppy Bush was no dummy; he had been head of CIA, and he knew what Reagan did with trading arms for hostages in Iran, and his funding of the Sandinistas in complete disregard of the Bowland amendment were enough to get him an orange jumpsuit. If there had been a special prosecutor who was 10% as relentless as Ken Starr, they both would be playing tennis at a federal facility for a number of years.

    But the first recorded choice of Vice President for impeachment insurance was Gerry Ford. Didn’t work, but Nixon is remembered as having laughed while at his desk in the Oval Office, asking, “Can you imagine Jerry Ford sitting here?” Ford turned out to be a much better president than anyone expected, and I’m sure he would have been re-elected if he had not pardoned Tricky Dick.

    Biden was chosen purely for political purposes. Everyone in the party and on TV were saying that Obama didn’t have any foreign policy chops, and he saw that as a liability, so he found a Democrat with significant and verifiable foreign policy experience. Suddenly this was no longer an issue to the pundits, so the ploy worked.

    Mike, Ms Ima, SkepticCal, please encourage Sarah Palin to run for office. Now, 2014, 2016, whenever. Support her by sending your money. Lots of it. As soon as you can. Its for the good of the country. Encourage her to speak her mind as often as possible.

    It still sounds better than President Quayle. Or President Cheney. Or President Palin. Or President Ryan… (Need I continue?)

    @Robert Landers

    But you are wrong. First of all Gov Palin had more executive experience than the rabble rouser who won, and Biden appears to be a complete idiot. Facts are facts unless Biden is speaking. He just makes up his own.
