I wonder how many news stations are reporting that issa got over 6000 pages of documents and kept this circus going?

@Clark Kent
No, Clark, it started in November of 2009.

Talk about the 300 pound gorilla in the room and all some libs can do is blame Bush. Obamagate is coming.

I think common practice in these cases is to bury the investigators in fluff, omit key documents, and redact documents so thoroughly that prepositions, pronouns, and conjunctions are the only readable words.

While you are technically correct, the program named “Fast and Furious” started under Presidnet Obama, you are sadly mistaken, and ignorantly refusing to accept the truth that F&F was merely an extension of a program that was started under baby bush. Failed poliicies set the stage for more of the same. But you can not absolve king george of any blame.

It must be nice to be so blissfully ignorant. Except there is never any bliss in your hate filled comments.
This would not be an issue if hte redumblicans were not trying to obfuscate and divert attention from real issues. Don’t we have more important things to spend our tax dollars on than this partisan witchhunt? Ah, but the rethuglicans think they can make political hay so they will drive this country into the ground ignoring the more important issues, just so they can try and make this president look bad. Tell the idiots in the House to GET BACK TO WORK! Stop playing games and do the poeples business.

You see to forget that it’s only wrong when it’s not perpetrated by a Republican presidential administration.

For any who don’t know, this cartoon is exactly what happened the other day when “heat wave” got the top spot on network news, and “executive privilege used to try to bury scandal of government involvement in Border Agent’s murder” squeaked into third place.
And I have to laugh at those here who fall back on their ridiculous “Bush did it!” defense. If Bush was to blame, don’t you think Holder and Obama would have happily produced all the documents? They were certainly willing to do so when it came to revealing all of the interagency communications related to interrogations of terror suspects – against the advice of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Bush ran a similar gun program called “Wide Receiver” which was very limited in scope, and remained under control. “Fast & Furious” was “Wide Receiver” on steroids, and no attempt was made to even track the guns: the goal was just to match serial numbers after the inevitable bloodbaths in order to build a case against gun sales in America. It was never about infiltrating drug rings and was always a stealth program to subert the 2nd Amendment.

Your logic is faulty. If there is a paper trail leading to the
Bush Admin., why invoke Exec. privilege?

Under the Bush administration the straw purchasers were actually arrested and prosecuted before they got to Mexico with the guns. All the guns afew hundred, were recovered.Under Obama they lost over 2000 guns. They hardly arrested anyone or prosecuted anyone.Even when the ATF was called while the thugs were in the store nothing was done most of the time. The ATF said in 2009 that 85% of the guns submitted for tracing by the Mexican Government came from Russia,China, and North Korea. And how did those M 16’s that were left with South Viet Namese Army get to Mexico?

Jeez, man.
First: I’m not sure how you get from a generalized statement about the procedure that governmental departments use to obfuscate, delay, and avoid submitting pertinent documents when they receive Congressional subpoenas to my being ignorant and and trying to absolve George Bush.
¶
Second: Operation Wide Receiver was from early 2006 to late 2007. Operation Fast and Furious started in November 2009.
¶
Third: The subject of the ’toon is Fast and Furious. Not Wide Receiver (which also lost a bunch of guns). Bush had nothing to do with Fast and Furious and there is a large gap between Wide Receiver and Fast & Furious.
Part of the reason both operations partially failed was the failure of the Mexican police to follow up on their end of the joint operation. Did Bush know about Wide receiver? Maybe, maybe not. Did Obama know about Fast and Furious? Maybe, maybe not. But, with the size of these operations, you can bet your sweet petoot that both of their AGs knew about them.
The following is suggested reading:
¶
Project Gunrunner

¶
Operation Wide Receiver (this includes Fast and Furious)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wide_Receiver
¶
Both of these articles explain what happened in some depth without much in political overtones.

So before it was Holders refusal to release documents, now he released to much? Can the righties just finaly admit that this whole thing is BS.
DrCanuck said, 11 months ago
Fast and Furious was covered adequately by all the networks. Then Faux News started the story that no network was covering the story but all were burying it.
And instantly all the conservatives started screaming liberal bias.

It’s just another BJ smokescreen. Blame La PIerre for all the thousands of weapons NOT provided by this screwed operation that BUSH folks actually started, and “carryover” employees in Justice and DEA kept going.
Distracting the easily distracted is the Rove/RNC/GOP manual’s only real “substance”.
