It’s scary how much of a clue he doesn’t have.
Ramirez is so great!
Multiple million-dollar vacations, selfies with world leaders at a funeral, parties with rock stars, guests on comedy talk shows, plays cards while embassies are under attack, talking about an imaginary son, with these and so much more this man does indeed operate under the dignity of the office of the presidency.
Well, TTM, I don’t believe any of this administration’s numbers on Obamacare. It hasn’t released any demographics at all and the figures of the last three days definitely were pulled out of someone’s posterior. That enrollment suddenly jumps in a week or so by over a million, or by about 25% is complete nonsense.
The POTUS is the Promoter-in-Chief, whether it’s healthcare or wars. Go back to find some REAL issues to discuss. Zzzzz….
Ramirez is spot on. The president is reduced to being an undignified and shameless health insurance salesman.
Obama should not be promoting the ACA because that will only add to its success.
He believes in it, whether you do or not. Republicans do not. They have every right to tell us it’s a disaster, which they do often. Why should he not have the same right to tell us it is not?
Take a look at this page from the Whitehouse’s official website. The GIFs on that page are almost embarrassing. Then tell me the that President Obama isn’t using his office to sell the ACA by hucksterism.http://www.whitehouse.gov//acabracket
What a maroon.
Here is my personal experience with the ACA. No one I work with is happy with it.-My plan was immensely better and more affordable than anything offered by Obamacare, but because the ACA increased the cost of insurance policies my old plan got pushed into what is now called a Cadillac Plan. My company could not afford to continue to pay 80% of our premium plus the 40% Cadillac Tax and so had to opt for a coverage that is inferior to what we had.-Now I pay a higher monthly premium and have to pay $3,000/person out of pocket before deductible coverage even kicks in. ($8,000/family). On top of this, if I want prescription coverage I have to pay an additional $36.00/month.-My brother’s company shifted to the ACA last month and his figures match mine almost exactly.-This is why liberals like the ACA so much. More money is collected from the working man who gets less so that those that don’t want to work can get it all for free. It’s like the plans out there to give prisoners and illegal aliens free college education.-As of March 13, only 4.2 million people were signed up for the ACA and 15 – 20% of those had yet to pay their first monthly premium. On top of this it seems they are having a very hard time getting the younger people to sign up without whom the ACA cannot expect to tread water.-Through personal experience I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about the UN-Affordable Care Act.
NantucketFirst in your response to curtis…The GOP does not hold the market on lies concerning the ACA. Obama and his minions are all guilty of a very liberal share of lies. Neither party is worth spit in my opinion. I liken them to a toilet. I believe that with the Democrats in control the swirl is quicker, but regardless the party at the handle, hard working Americans are still getting flushed.-As to your response to me, regardless how or when my company decided to act it was the ACA that forced the hand. Without the mandate and the additional tax I would have still had my good insurance. Now I am stuck with something less that I am paying more for. I looked at the exchanges. I could have not done better than what I got through my company, so in the end…I got it in the end.-But for the libs I guess that is okay because liberal poster children will get it all for free.-As an example go to YouTube and search "Woman With 15 Kids: “Somebody needs to be held accountable, and they need to pay”.-Well, I’m paying, and paying, and paying.-Any odds that this woman votes Democrat?
I just found out a new benefit from ACA. The prescription coverage I pay $36 extra for every month has now started charging my wife a $24.78 co-pay because we are not getting her monthly prescription mailed to our home, but pick it up personally from one of their approved pharmacies. It just keeps getting better.-All you libs out there that keep defending Obamacare and the idiots that passed it…I can’t allow myself to type the words. Thanks for nothing!
If you consider that site, humor, you and I have a different view of what humor is. I probably should have said this up front, but I am not a member of either team red or blue – I find just as much fault with Bush for his careless addition of Part D. The point of the comic was that he is using the office to sell, in a way that Ramirez saw as undignified. I then look at the ACA page from the White House, and I feel the same way.
Caribou Barbie would have brought so much dignity, and old fashioned American devotion to duty, for a month or two before quiting?
Before PPACA I was not penalized for going personally to my pharmacist and picking up my meds. That way, if I had questions or concerns we could discuss them. Seemed like a responsible way to handle potentially harmful medications.-Speaking of responsibility, just where have I not been personally responsible.- I have worked hard for the past 37 years to provide for myself and my family.- I have never asked the gov’t or anyone for assistance.- I pay all my insurance premiums on time- Even after the first two prescription pick-ups were covered by the insurance, my wife still paid the $24.78 penalty imposed the third time.- We have now signed up for the mail delivery.-So where am I not being responsible? I don’t “Try some of that there personal responsibility the CONs are always ranting about”, I live it. Then I get penalized for it through higher taxes and worse health care.-I do not drink, smoke, gamble or do drugs and I have an awesome monogamous relationship with my wife of 26 years. That is responsible living.-Here are some personal responsibilities I would like to see:People today like to say that it is their body, they should be able to do what they want. Fine:- Pay for your own birth control. Why should I pay for your irresponsible choice?- If you must murder the baby, pay for your own abortion. Why should I pay for your irresponsible choice?- If you have a child, both parents should diligently work to provide for that child. Why should I pay for your irresponsible choice?- If you get a STD, you pay for the cure. Why should I pay for your irresponsible choice?- If you get drunk or high and bring harm to yourself, someone else or their property, you pay for it in total (to include rehabs). Why should I pay for your irresponsible choice?- If you decide you do not want to work, don’t come looking to me for a hand-out. I am willing to provide a hand-up, but I should not have to pay a hand-out for your irresponsible choice?-I understand some people can’t work, and some are trying very hard to work, and to those people should be going our hard earned tax dollars. But if you are part of the entitlement class, like the woman with 15 kids referred to above, you are on your own.
I said “I” was not penalized. Prior to APA I paid a lower premium and did not have to pay an extra $36/month for prescription coverage. Ordinarily any prescriptions we got were either completely covered, like my wife’s, or we paid a small co-pay (usually $5-$7).-Now “I” pay extra for the coverage and still “I” am penalized for not going mail order.-I am not speaking in generalities or unsubstantiated claims, I am speaking as to how Obamacare is effecting me and all those I work with. So far it has done nothing but make my quality of care worse.-But hey, we’re just the working stiffs that are paying for this mess. At least the people who do not want to work for a living can get their health care for free.
And of course if you raise the minimum wage every company will just naturally absorb the addition cost; especially the small business owners. No one will raise prices to offset the increase, owners will not lay anyone off or cut hours to offset the increase. Nope. It will all be apple pie in the sky, let’s all sing kumbaya days.-The proposed increase is to $10.10, but why stop there? $10.10 is not really a living wage anymore. According to Health and Human Services at this wage you would be below the poverty level for a family of four. Why not raise it to $20 per hour, or maybe $25?-According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2012 only 4.7% of the population were at or below minimum wage with over half of those being 25 or younger. This statistic does not account for tips that these people may get either so that percentage is probably a good deal lower.-Let’s be honest, people are not meant to be supporting a family on minimum wage and the numbers bear out the fact that most do not. Increasing the minimum wage will do little to help if anything to help, and will cost everyone.
This presidency always was a one man show.
TheTrustedMechanic,Given your consistently vapid gratuitous assertions disguised as posts, I completely understand why you characterize yourself as little more than a mechanic vice educated engineer or for that matter any other flavor of STEM professional. Stupid is as Progressive spouts.
How is Hope, Change and Unicorn Farts working out for you comrade?
