Your right President Obama never had a chance, President Regan had the House and the Senate, oh no wait no he didn’t. How many more excuses are you going to make. The issue is leadership not economic theory.

Also another Ramirez a day late.

Reason’s ventriloquist must be channeling “opposite day”. Reagan inherited double digit inflation along with double digit unemployment and turned it around by convincing a House run by democrats, and a Senate run by democrats to follow his lead. The Savings and Loan debacle was begun in 1979 under Carter when they were allowed to double their interest rates. The tax reform act also reduced tax shelters used against the high taxes of the Carter years, this also reduced the value of assets which led to insolvency, that was in 1986. But the inflated value of the tax shelters was due to democrat tax policy. Some people need to get their facts straight.

Obama had plenty of chances, but as an extremist ideologue he squandered them.

Hmm, from lynching truth, to hanging Obama with the problems caused by “Reaganomics”!! Ramirez and the right-wing supporters of too stupid to breath on command, have really gone over the edge.

Yes, no lie is too big to sell to the ignorant, Ramirez again speaks for the “Reich right”.

Yeah its Obama’s fault for granting amnesty to illegal aliens, lowering the tax rate to 35% (from the previous 60% on the rich), raising taxes six times on the middle class, and signing that NAFTA agreement! Oh wait…

Seems to me that Obama’s economics are much like his mentor (of sorts) Reagan to whom he admired.

Carter started the Conservative free-for-all concerning removal of regulations from business. Reagan etc. carried it on ward to disaster as it inevitably will. Clinton add to it since he is a free market Conservative too.

HOPE: Of the Plutocrats to weaken the Republic.
CHANGE: To alter us into a full on Empire.
    -
So far the Plutocrats are doing it. Democrat or Republican since 1980 it has worked. Along with destroying the Middle Class which topped growing in 1980 and began to shrink.

Obamanomics is simply leftist ideology put to work in Detroit. You presume that Obamanomics is new and Detroit is “old”, in the sense that Obama is more recent to the political scene you are correct, but his policies are Detroit policies and they are old, the president simply renamed them “Obamanomics”. That is the failure of Obama and his extremist ideology.
    .
In terms of inflation, you are only partially correct. Paul Volker was put in place by Carter, however monetarist policy with the Fed was not initiated by Carter, he felt it too risky. Inflation was at 14% in 1980, and there was no new investment due to the high tax rates. This is Carter’s legacy, it was called “stagflation”, Carter hoped to fight it by deregulation the oil and gas industry but he refused to lower the high taxes which disallowed investment and kept unemployment high. Obama on the other hand has significantly increased regulations through royal fiat, and has increased taxes while telling the fed to print more money. Obamanomics.
    .
Your faith based belief system that Obama stopped municipalities from declaring Chapter 9 wrong, he delayed it by throwing money at the problem, but the municipalities have not, like Detroit, changed their pension habit, nor have they changed their spending policies. We see this is Detroit, we see it also in California, we see it across the nation, they are still titanic in nature and nothing has changed except more money has been wasted.
    .
    .
This is Obama’s “leadership”, this is Obama’s legacy. For every one dollar in new jobs, three dollars in new debt is created by an expanding government. I wouldn’t kiss that failures butt for a million dollars because under Obama it will have the worth of a peso. If you don’t believe me look at Canada’s dollar; at one time 60% of the dollar just a short while ago, now it has parity, has Canada become rich? Or have we become poorer?
    .
    .
Oops reality hits the faith based democrats again

Dtroutma your “party uber alles” is fascinating, one would have thought that fascism died with Germany in the 1930’s.

Carter only impacted the oil and gas industry as a reaction to OPEC, otherwise it was the same old leftist socialism, tax and spend.

Yeah, that’s what happens when you let Liberals run a large city for decades. Just like NYC, Boston, Minneapolis and San Francisco…
