No, the point is that in a nation of 300M+ you can always find some lunatic for a compliant media to help you use as a distraction.

Distracting from what? The jobs bills that Congress wont even let come to a vote.

A quote from a Connecticut newspaper: ”Adam Lanza killed twenty-six children and educators in less than five minutes, firing 154 rounds from a Bushmaster XM15 military-style rifle. He was prepared to kill far more: Police found three more 30-round magazines on him, with another 15 rounds in his rifle.“
Whatever else we might term him, Adam Lanza was not ‘well-regulated.’ The 2nd Amendmenteers, Mr. Ramirez included, need to stand back from their weapons and accept more and more effective regulation.
The NRA needs to stand back from its propaganda weaponry and permit, nay, ENCOURAGE transparency. Facts and figures, statistical analysis, medical research correlated to guns and gun ownership, how is such information NOT vital to the Constitutional process they profess?
Oh, and if Obama talks jobs for ten minutes, Ramirez will be back to guns. ’Tis yer standard Gold Rush Glen Fox technique. So-o-o-o clever.

There’s a line that’s been flying around lately. NRA actually stands for “No Reasonable Accommodation”

Whereas the Republicans idea of a jobs bill is to give more tax cuts to billionaires, which has never worked in the past and never will in the future.

Seriously, demoncrats? Bet you think that’s clever. What are you, 12? Just plain pathetic, it cheapens any argument you might make.

    “No Reasonable Accommodation”
Except for NFA ’34, GCA ’68, various “sporting use” tests implemented by bureaucrats or executive orders, 20,000 state and local gun laws and of course the existing background check system, which passed with NRA support.
And with every law passed so far demands for the next one start instantly.

Where would any of you draw the line? How much gun control would be enough? If the 4 million members of the NRA and the other 80-90 million US gun owners agreed to give up more of their rights, how would you guarantee that you won’t just come back for more?
Go ahead, tell us your plans.

Google shows me lots of hysterical reactions to the auction that mention Lanza, but I don’t see where the GOP referred to him.

God it is true, Obama can’t hear anything over his own self.

Scott, every “jobs bill” Republicans have come up with is nothing but eliminating regulations on “industry” and corporations, giving them MORE subsidies, and reducing their taxes. The Republicans in the House Natural Resources Committee under “Doc” Hastings (just as one example) have come up weekly with more “law” to give away American TAXPAYERS’ oil, gas, timber, and other natural resources, to CORPORATE PARTNERS, while charging them NOTHING for the resources, because “they create jobs”- yep, for bankers in the Cayman Islands handling the egregious profits.

Obama has done such a bad job that the DOW stands at record highs, as do other markets, including the futures markets on those very resources the Republicans want to give away. Obama is the worst “socialist” in histroy!

NO, trying to start a war with Iran, or Korea, or maybe Lichtenstein is next for the Republican chickenhawks invested in our “defense” industries and military spending, is the REAL distraction!! LIttle Kim isn’t the problem they claim, but the 30+ people killed EVERY DAY on our streets, homes, and schools that have become “target zones”, in a “free fire” environment, THAT is the danger the crazies and “righties” don’t want attention drawn to.

Here are two more “gun victims” from Friday:

Those two will count toward the year’s “killed by guns” total, but somehow I don’t think we’ll see much about that incident outside the local news.

So auctioning a perfectly legal object is a sign of mental illness?
That kind of extreme attitude is actually why we are saying “enough is enough” on gun control. There doesn’t seem to be much room for compromise with people who think that just owning a gun, or just being a republican, is proof of mental illness.
