DHS Budgets:FY 2004 Budget: $36.2 BnFY 2005 Budget: $40.2 BnFY 2006 Budget: $41.1 Bn FY 2007 Budget: $42.7 BnFY 2008 Budget: $46.4 BnFY 2009 Budget: $50.5 BnFY 2010 Budget: $55.1 BnFY 2011 Budget: $56.3 BnFY 2012 Budget: $56.9 BnFY 2013 Budget: $59.0 BnSo, don’t try to place this at the feet of the Republicans alone Mechanic. Your imperious leader has done just as much to increase the spending of DHS as his predecessor. Here’s the major difference, though. from 2004-2008, we weren’t in a massive recession. From 2009 to today, we were. It also dispels your concept that Republicans were the ones who are so spendthrift. Last time Congress was controlled by Republicans, we had a budget. I don’t think we’ve had a budget since Obama’s been in office. I wonder why that is.Simply put, saying “the Republicans did it” is not a valid argument when facts tell a different story. At the same time, it’s childish to excuse one bad behavior with the bad behavior of someone else. “But he did it!” is not a valid line of logic, because it’s petty and immature. I don’t care how you word it, that’s what you’re doing. Hell, that’s what 3/4 the Democratic party is doing. Come up with why your actions are valid on their own, don’t try to give your garbage decisions a pass because another person made the same garbage decisions.
