Yeah! That nasty,Commie, Socialist-Facist, oil is so much dirtier and more polluting than good, clean, pure American oil.

(Or have I missed Ramirez’s point again?)

A communist symbol never fails to excite the leftist intellectuals.

No, a Communist symbol is what gets the right wingers nutz!! All you have to do is brand something – anything – with that symbol and they begin to foam at the mouth.

When Dorothy Day was living out the Gospel message of Christ in her life, the right wingers of her day fell all over themselves to label her as a “Commie” and thus neutralize here message to millions by playing on their fears.

Having been a direct recipient of communist largess - behind the iron curtain, I say:

THE ONLY GOOD COMMUNIST, IS A DEAD COMMUNIST!!!

From the report I just pulled up from the EIA, the crude oil imports from Canada more than double that from Venezuela (or any other country for that matter) for the period june/july ‘09, and nearly double for 2009 YTD. I consider that much better than sending our money to any other land.
DrCanuck, I’m not sure of Ramirez point here myself, but he shows the oil spilling like blood over South America only. Chavez has been a tyrant in his own country, but I don’t know about any attempt to rule the continent.

Well, thanks for the Yankee bucks, there, Loco. We’ll return them by buying your manufactured goods (with an acceptable positive balance of trade, of course.)

Venezuela is the 4th largest supplier of crude oil to the USA.
And I do believe the US is Venezuela’s biggest customer.

When will the US stop bankrolling these corrupt, socialist regimes! :-|

As Loco said, largest supplier was Canada. See? Another frigging socialist country!

Venezuela, or rather, Chavez, is trying to buy sweet love from his neighbours using petro-dollars. Er, petro-bolivars. Which kinda p1sses off some Venezuelans since there are still rather pressing issues within Venezuela to sort out.
Meanwhile, this also puts him in direct conflict with the US in the battle for the hearts and minds of South America. Although Chavez loves Obama, which might not help matters, conflicts need hate!
(Wait a minute, Venezuela’s buying friends using money from its biggest customer! Oh no. Who’s bankrolling whom? :-| )
