Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Ramirez combines an encyclopedic knowledge of the news with a captivating drawing style to create consistently outstanding editorial cartoons.
"Editorial cartoons should be smart and substantive, provocative and informative. They should stir passions and deep emotions. Editorial cartoons should be the catalyst for thought, and frankly speaking, if you can make politicians think, that is an accomplishment in itself."

Is there a successful group of individuals or companies that he hasn’t slammed yet? If there is, let us know - he still has the time to take care of them.

oldlegodad, I guess we’ll see in the next few years, but from what I’m seeing, it looks like most of us will be better off. I know the previous eight did not help ME any.

As usual, I’m with cdward on this one. Ramirez is playing on the tried and found wanting image of Obama as socialist.

Funny and up2date, i like it, but i prefer “share” instead of “hand over” your prosperity. Capitalism and socialism both have advantages and pitfalls.

Spot on–two thumbs up; Slashing 1/2 of 1% from largest budget ever considered a significant cut in his view.

Anybody see the Star Trek movie in 3-D yet? Is it worth the extra bucks to see it that way?
To balance the budget we don’t actually have to cut the dollars spent, just have the growth of spending lower than the growth of the economy and taxes.

Uh, MISTER Spock was on Star Trek. DOCTOR Spock wrote kid-care books- and apparently messed up a couple generations?

R U TRYING tell me he’s not green or that he doesn’t drive a spaceship.
AND are you calling DRED a liar.

dtroutma,
the H did you get that idea? WheSpock’s advice on child and baby care is/was spot on. Check any basic psych ext.
dtroutma said, 6 months ago
Hi, Senor!
SULU “drove” the spaceship! Would never call Dred a liar. I guess the results of “Dr.” Spock are still open to interpretation, but following the ‘news” and blogs- he may be doing a few spins?
Hey ! In Star Trek– there AIN’T MONEY ANY MORE!
Good thing they’re mission isn’t starting today- it would be:
“You’re mission is to screw up as many civilizations as possible!”
Rodenberry, Heinlein, Clark- all bitterly disappointed in us.

DTROUTMA, Apology excepted. Yes, Spock has a chauffeur, on the show. But how do you think he get’s to the studio? He has to drive his own ship.
And yes, he wrote a children’s book, for which they gave him his doctrinaire,(see docudrama for details)while at Flight attendant collage.
YOUR WELCOME.

“Typical emotionally-charged Human responses to the ‘Toon’s flawless logic.”
Spock: “Fascinating. You operate under the impression that the cartoon, without any basis in reality or fact, is logical. Clearly, this is evidence of a confused and irrational mind.”
