Do you realise that the client had had to listen to 56 minutes of mind numbing cooing voice telling him how important he is and could he type the right department number and then type his number again… and again…

Yup, that’s the first problem with calling service reps, techs, etc. Each needs to understand what the other has just endured before they were connected, then take a breath to collect their sanity. It might prevent some of the ‘flying off the handles’ and ‘chewing off of each others’ heads.’

I always did wonder why they make you key it in to the machine, then tell the live person once you finally get to one

I think maybe telephones erase memories. Coz I would call somebody, get their secretary, who’d ask me who I was and I’d tell them, then when the person I was calling got on the line, they’d ask me who I was again.

So I’m like, “DIDN’T YER FRIKKIN SECRETARY TELL YOU??”

Think of us cops. We may have just left a domestic abuse scene where the wife tried to stab us because we were hauling her husband off to jail…or a young person died…or any number of bad shows….

Maybe Lila should try this, just for her amusement.

I think I talked to Lila (or someone just like her) on the phone yesterday

Seriously, why do I need to both key in my number AND then give it to the person who answers the phone?

Just imagine all the crap such call service people have to take and their bosses are listening to them. If they did what Lila did they would be fired. It is the worse job psychologically.
