And serve coffee.

This really makes me mad.
I get so incensed when some schmo thinks that a laptop and a coffee shop is all that it takes to be a writer.
And the only thing worse than that is the halfwits of this world who don’t have the sense to recognise good literature like Kafka. They gobble this stuff up like bacon.
It’s people like me, Literature students, who keep the valued cultures of the modern world alive.
And you ungrateful luftmenschen don’t know how to appreciate us.

Don’t need school loans. Saved all my allowance since the age of six and held a job with a video game magazine since I was 16. Do odd jobs as a writer of short stories and part—time cartoonist for youth ‘zines in India. Won a bet with a friend that ended up in her footing the bill for my college education. I’ve saved enough for my post-grad.

These are the comics. If you dont want to have fun stay away

Kancho, my dissertation is about how the comics are acquiring recognition as an academic medium. Ever read Art Spiegelman’s two-part classic ‘Maus’, perhaps the finest memoir in the history of Holocaust survival since Anne Frank’s Diary?
Didn’t think so.

I understand and somewhat sympathize. Much of what passes for literature is dreck. Times have changed, however. I do believe that if Kafka were alive today he might well be busy in a coffee shop working on his next masterpiece with a laptop.

I’m the guy known for making Docs’ World Famous Nuclear Coffee, and even I think that someone here needs to cut back on the caffeine

It’s a joke! Nobody write anything of value in a coffee shop! They just think they do! You, however, keep up the good work! ;)

No, you are not! But we can’t do anything about it, because people are so clueless, it makes it look like us scholars are the bad guys!
Thank God for brain cells!

You would think somebody so involved in comics (i.e. part-time cartoonist) would see the humor in this comic and not take it so literally.

Kancho, you do NOT get a failing grade in Literature (at least I never did), plus I learned to write at the age of four, when most kinder learn to read, and learned to read at the age of two, when most kinder learn to speak. I’m twenty-two years old and already going for my PhD in literature.
It’s people like me who keep culture alive, ungeziefer. And it’s people like you who are supposed to. So START ENCOURAGING THE YOUTH IN THEIR ARTISTIC ENDEAVOURS, OLD MAN! DON’T LET THEM SINK INTO INDOLENCE VIA TWITTER AND ‘E! TODAY’ ! JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST SNOOKI AND OTHERS OF HER ILK!
