Lila, it doesn’t ALWAYS mean that.
    However SETTLING does!

… yah, that pretty much goes along with the old adage that every food that’s good for you tastes bad …

    . . . also true . . .

There’s no proof of the existence of a “gay gene”: while people are born with different sexual tastes, a homosexual lifestyle is a decision. So while not easy, it’s entirely possible to consciously reject that lifestyle. The big problem here is that Matthew isn’t being open about his homosexual inclinations: if he’s not shooting straight (pun intended) with Lila now, it’s not going to get better.

Unfortunately you are misinformed on so many levels. Parents have said they knew when their child was 3 years old. Explain that.

Numerous studies with identical twins (who have identical DNA) have, indeed, provided ample evidence that homosexuality often has a genetic element. Despite what many people would like to believe, homosexuality is seldom a choice. Very few people consiously choose to be attracted to the same sex.
It is true that living a homosexual lifestyle (participating in homosexual sex) is a choice, but it is also true that living a heterosexual lifestyle (participating in heterosexual sex) is a choice.

    SO, TRUE.

Why would I “choose” a life of discrimination and hate towards me? Being gay has been a very difficult life. If you don’t understand that, you don’t understand what it’s like to be in a minority that is prejudiced against. And yes, sassy1, she should hock the ring, LOL!

If she’s calling off the engagement, she should give the ring back! Etiquette.

If its a choice, like you state, I would be curious to know when you decided to be straight?

The lifestyle is the choice. Lila’s betrothed, assuming he really is gay, chooses the closeted lifestyle.

Very poignant reply John, I knew you you would post back on that one. I had (when I lived in So CA) 6 different gay couple friends.. Even though they knew I was an older straight female, they were wonderful to me. Had so much fun with them. I miss them so much.

Can you say the same for a heterosexual lifestyle?

And there are plenty of bi-sexuals who deny it even though when they are hard up for sex they will do so with men. But only as a top, never a bottom.

Maybe Lila should ask him first before doing all this stuff on her suspicion. (Hint:she could be wrong.)

    Somehow I don’t think so!
