   I can understand my mom freaking out and sending me half a dozen panicked e-mails if I don’t write to her for a week, but I live several thousand miles away in a place known for toxic food.

   You’re lucky she ever speaks to you at all. Lucky for Lila she has that pretty white cat. It looks very loving like my Macushla.

   After my last divorce I didn’t have much to do with anyone for a while, including my mother.
   When I went to Christmas that year one of my presents was a milk carton with my picture taped to it.

   I hear from my mom all the time, which needs to be we lost my dad 10 years ago and my mom is now 84. I and my sister keep track of her. I live by HWY 10 minutes away whereas my sister 30 mins away. My husband now pitches in with her now he is retired.
