Lila adopting Annie,..would be sweet and i’m sure some very funny material could develop out of that storyline.
But, basically it goes against the whole storyline that has developed around Lila already. And for her to suddenly acknowledge others around her is kind of a stretch, imho.
My heart goes out to Annie but I agree that Lila wouldn’t adopt her, it wouldn’t go along with her personality. But I think a great friendship will develop that will hopefully last many years since Annie will not die.
Kid’s going to survive, grow up to be a successful Victorian poet, marry Robert Browning, move to Wimpole Street, and be played by Norma Shearer in the movie version.
No adoption I agree. But Lila might foster the child, then you have story lines about how a child cramps lila style, against the money lila would recieve for fostering. All to end when Annie is adopted.

My 1st instinct was this girl had no family. Maybe if Lila adopts her she’ll change from her narrow minded thinking. NAAAAAAAH

It would be a good idea for Lila to adopt Annie, after Lila does need someone to look after her………..

Elizabeth/Annie should have said her mother was out running a 10K.

I do like Lila showing that she has a heart, yet an adoption does seem a bit of a stretch for the character.
