The recent rumors of a Global Political Warming are greatly exaggerated!

The odd man out is getting further and further out.
    .
Even with all the damage they are doing, I am still highly amused. It would be a tragic-comic movie if it were not really happening.
If I could not smile about it I suspect I would cry, one of the sad episodes in America.

“One out of three showing some sense.”

I am guessing you are referring to the elephant. If so, “showing some sense” means doing nothing.

    “As usual.”

In the context of the cartoon, the elephant is thinking about not doing immigration reform.

“You say that jumping off a dock into a frozen lake without reservation makes sense?”

Not at all. Please re-read my post.

“The elephant is doing something . He is thinking and considering the consequences.”

And doing nothing as a result.

    I stand by my comments.

@CCNJ's say the sky is falling

You are a one note person. And that note is wrong anyway. Why don’t you read a book?

this is the second comic using Winter conditions as a metaphor for poltical feelings ans some of them just don’t understand it. I believe it was Plato to say about those who can understand metaphors and use them and those who are oblivious to them.

I will try one last time:

The ice is metaphorical. It is there, if I understand correctly, to say that jumping into immigration reform is an uncomfortable thing to do politically. Continuing that metaphor, the elephant is unwilling to consider anything that might become politically uncomfortable, and prefers to do nothing at all. Hence my point.

Now, if this were truly literal, no doubt that refusing to jump into icy water would be a smart move. Hence YOUR point.

I submit we have been talking apples and oranges up to now. I trust I have made myself more clear, whether you agree or not.

Pres. Obama keeps breaking the ice, but the elephant won’t go for it.

Or they could be deported with the same effect on employers. The only difference is the wages would have to be paid to American citizens that are currently unemployed.

However, the government always doing nothing isn’t and hasn’t been a good option for Americans; all to make sure President Obama is a one term President that doesn’t accomplish anything.
    .
President Obama is not a Kenyan any more than I am German, even though some of my relatives were born and raised in Deutschland.

But the employers would whine, whimper, cry, etc. anyway, according to your original comments. At least if we deported the illegals the jobs would go to Americans. Why is giving jobs to American citizens instead of illegals a problem for you?
