    Sen. Rand Paul criticized New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to expand Medicaid in the state, calling the decision “very expensive and not fiscally conservative.”

    The first-term Republican senator from Kentucky said that while no “one person gets to decide what is and what isn’t conservative,” the New Jersey governor’s acceptance of a portion of President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act suggests that Christie is not a true conservative.

    “On the case of the New Jersey governor, I think embracing Obamacare (and) expanding Medicaid in his state is very expensive and not fiscally conservative – and really, many Republican governors who I would say are conservative did resist expanding and accepting Obamacare in their states,” Paul said, appearing on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront on Tuesday.

    .
    The cons were saying Christie was not a conservative and now all of sudden they are defending Christie as their best choice. You need a map to sort out the ins and outs of right wingers.

    Who did Rand Paul plagiarize from when he said that?

    Republicans are in flux as the extremists move to take over the party and oust any they see as impure Conservatives. Measured by the TPR’s own very narrow perspective and standards.

    He’s still a far better choice than Paul, Ryan, or Cruz! who have “grander” ambition and far lower I.Q.s.

    I had read an opinion piece in the local paper that had opined similar. If the Tea Party purists continue to replace moderate Republican incumbents with more right wing party members during the caucuses, the Republicans will likely loose more seats in Congress at the mid-terms.

    I really dislike the intelligence test score attack. Especially since it isn’t in evidence. And that number isn’t exactly the be-all-and-end-all of measurement of intelligence. Just a bottom feeder means of attack. Not good to do, that is slumming intellectually.

    .
    Dunno. I think Christie would be the most dangerous, given his history of petty political tit-for-tat reactions to those who “cross” him. Giving him the power of the Presidency would just enable his bully megalomania.
    .
    Paul, Ryan, and Cruz would be devastating to the economy, the middle class, and the poor, but their policies could be blunted by Congress (assuming the Republicans don’t control both houses)
    .
    And sorry, your IQ statement is a personal attack.

    No actual conservatives are defending Christie, who is obviously a bully and hurting citizens to make obscure political points. It’s only wingnuts on these comment pages who are defending him, and they’re only defending Christie reflexively, because liberals don’t like him. There’s no actual reasoning behind it.

    What about taking responsibility for:
    Fast and Furious, people actually died;
    Benghazi, people actually died;
    Obamacare, a massive traffic jam of epic proportion;
    IRS, NSA, who is running my country?

    Time for a leader not a reader.
    A kingdom is only as good as its king.
    .
    I may not like NJ Governor Christie, but he is a leader, a man of action.
