    Frankly I believe there should be term limits for ALL elected officials. Can you imagine if parents had to be elected/reelected by their children?!? The first time little Jonny came home late one night and was grounded for a week his parents wouldn’t get “reelected” again. Ma & Pa let lil Missy see that boy ‘cause we want to continue to be her parents. Politicians and the electorate behave the same way. Politicians of all strips never make the tough decisions because they don’t want the electorate (or special interest groups) to throw a hissy fit and throw them out of the office. I’m certainly a proponent of government involvement in society. Think about what life would be like without police and traffic regulations for starters. That said, some of the “benefits” lawmakers create, and I’m using the definition of “benefits” very loosely here, in my opinion, are done to please a particular demographic so they can get elected/reelected. Take away the need to “please” the electorate during every election cycle and I’d bet my house we’d start seeing more responsible legislation.

    How about pay for performance? They get insurance coverage and pay only by the number of laws they pass OR eliminate!

    According to Rasmussen, the Democrats lead their Congressional prediction poll for the first time since November ‘13. And Obama’s approval rating is up to 48%.

    Predictions of which party will take Congress tend to be very unreliable, and many would question the relevance of Obama’s poll numbers. But it’s looking like the ’14 election might be close to the ’12 election, with the Gerrymander having to step in to keep the House red.

    @Mike Rossi

    Make the job limiting so only the truly dedicated would stay. The money grubbers would quit.
    Let them live dorm style, get paid only $11,000 a year, no perks, no benefits after they are voted out.

    It would be refreshing to see the voters stand up and remove every single incumbent in 2014.
