How could we possibly be safe were it not for the NSA and DHS watching us 24/7/366 (I don’t want to leave out Feb 29: I want to cover all the years).

Not only Castle, but the New York Times and every other mainstream US media reiterates that the US has frequently been attacked by terrorists, but all those attacks (some of them with nuclear devices) have been thwarted by NSA surveillance backed up by DHS action. Of course (as they pointed out on Castle) all those foiled attempts were classified Top Secret, so the NSA and the MSM cannot reveal any details, but trust us, we desperately need to be watched 24/7/366 to be safe.

And, as the MSM warns, if the NSA had its hands tied by an 18th century Constitution, the many successful terrorist attacks would force our protective government to remove our few remaining liberties. We must not tie our government’s hands: if it needs to imprison us all with ‘enhanced interrogation’, or even kill us all to keep us safe, we must trust that it knows what it’s doing, and it’s all for our own good.

Ironic that a 1984 Tom Selleck movie, written and directed by Michael Crichton,Runawaywould be so prescient?

I believe true threats go unrecognized, or ignored. Mother Nature has a virus, a bacteria, or natural event just waiting to astound us. Even folks who thought wealth would protect them will be toast. The last thought would be “Wow!” so that’s what an exploding caldera looks like…

As long as they make it legal to shoot back I’m game!

Hmm, the biggest advantage of drones over satellites is that they can fly beneath cloud cover and provide more reliable “real time” data, but don’t reveal that much more detail than what satellites can provide. BTW, the Dan Ackroyd “Deal of the Century” film opened with a guy by his pool getting zapped by a laser from space, that isn’t exactly “science fiction” either.

The increase in allowing drones is going to be a huge pain in the neck for civil aviation, and even we who’ve long flown RC model planes (some larger than the drones being developed that are costing thousands of times more than our “hobby” craft, and have no greater capabilities!!).

^about those “go pro” cameras! and we were dropping harmless “bombs” from RC scale models decades ago!

Just wait for when the president, of either party, starts allowing armed drones be used by law enforcement to “kill terrorists an criminals.” Coming soon to a Mayberry near you.

Does that really have to be a Presidential decision?

No more so than your previous incarnation being banned stopped you.

No, it just could happen by state and not be overturned by the Supreme Court.

I wish they would post the new cartoons instead of the re-runs.

Mother Nature has something waiting in the wings for us, including the 1% their money won’t protect them from. Reminds me, have you read Stephen King’s: The Stand?

Okay, thanks. I was fairly certain the President doesn’t have some of the powers that rwnj ascribe to him, regardless of what bush-cheney did.

Want scary, just go back and review what Rumsfeld/Cheney et al and the Project for a New American Century were calling for! Cheney’s “unitary executive” was one of the LEAST FRIGHTENING things these clowns dreamed of.
