Pennsylvania’s claim as the Keystone State no longer holds true.

This election gave me a little faith back in our country’s level of intelligence after it elected W once. We need a strong two party system but sadly the Republicans have gone so far to the lunatic fringe right that it gives many of us no choice. Perhaps this will force them back towards the middle where compromise, which is the bedrock of any democracy, is reached. Great to see that those two loonies who chose to bring rape into their campaigns and claimed to understand the will of “God” were put down.

I don’t think that the right accepts that is the reason they lost . Many think it’s because their guy wasn’t conservative enough. I know that sounds ridiculous to rational thinkers, but that’s what they are saying.

Now it’s payback time to the unions.

When the radical right is reduced to 8%, like the union membership of workers in this country, and unions actually do regain some control over “industry”, we will all be better off.

I agree with you when you say “many.” The question will be how many going forward. Do they want to keep becoming more and more marginalized? Perhaps they’ll start a third party and split the Republican Party up. Politics is never dull. Stupid, but not dull.

    >> When the radical right is reduced to 8%, like the union membership of workers in this country, and unions actually do regain some control over “industry”, we will all be better off.
It’s actually only 3%. Unions have only that pitiful slice of work place membership for a reason – they care not a whit for their workers. Just try getting a grievance through the leadership at any union shop, and see how far you get. Unions care about one thing only – control of the work force and the guaranteed flood of dues money that it brings, half of it destined for DNC pockets. Proof of this is the quickness with which unions resort to violence. Like the band of SEIU thugs who attacked Bobby Jindal’s campaign finance director Allee Bautch and put her in the hospital with a broken leg and her boyfriend in with a broken jaw. Or the band of SEIU thugs who attacked Kenneth Gladney at a town hall meeting and turned him into a lifelong cripple, all for the crime of being a young Black conservative.
If unions are such a great boon to the common good, why did the Democrats fail to get Card Check passed even with control of both houses of Congress and the presidency? Because UNIONS SUCK! If they didn’t, people would flock to them. As it is, they can barely hold on to 3% of the work force.

Please do a little research. You seem completely oblivious about why Unions exist, and how they help a growing economy. Most Union members earn enough to buy a home, and with care build a decent retirement. They stay in their blue collar jobs because of the benefits and good wages. They become far more efficient than the non union competitors. Unions have their flaws, just like corporations. Corporations have proven many times, they CANNOT be trusted to do what is best, but only what increases the “bottom line”. That attitude leads to criminal decisions that should be punished, criminally. Fines should be ruinous for those who damage our environment. I could go on forever.

Oh, I’ve done my research, all right. I was on a picket line for 106 days in 2001 when my union struck and dragged those of us who preferred to keep working with them. I learned a LOT about labor law in those 106 days.
You, on the other hand, may be the only person in the universe who believes that “Union members [… are] far more efficient than [their] non-union competitors”.
