As editorial cartoonist for The Journal News in New York, Davies cuts to the chase on every major issue, deftly penetrating the spin and obfuscation to show readers what’s really at the heart. His caustic wit combines with a strong moral sensibility to render the complex comprehensible.

Just read Rand. Her innovators dropped out of school when they were 12 years old. No metallurgy, so they know bronze is cheaper and stronger than steel, and so can do what no metallurgist has done since the Bronze Age! No thermodynamics, so they were never taught wrong ideas that perpetual motion machines are impossible, and so they can easily build them, because it’s only having your mind polluted with the Laws of Physics that has stopped invention and innovation in the US—nothing is impossible for American ingenuity. So let’s get rid of all schools. Without any education, without learning the Laws of Physics, US students will easily be able to break those laws. The only thing holding US students down is learning the Law of Gravity. Of course, Kung Fu Monkey had the best evaluation of Rand.

Never mind the results, just throw more money at it until it goes away.

Throwing money at teachers is a better approach than throwing money at corporations.

Perhaps if we throw more money at teachers, we’ll be more hesitant to throw their pupils to war.

Great ‘toon, and so true. That’s how you can tell that the radical rich don’t see the middle class in their future
-they do not want to pay to educate the next generation.Chillbilly

Imagine how nice the world would be if we “threw money” at teachers with the same lack of rage that we throw money at cable TV, unnecessarily large motor vehicles, sports paraphernalia, alcohol, etc.

No one wants to cut the pay. What we want is capable teachers that teach sex ed with out the showing. We also want the the benefits to be normal not 80% of thier pay for retirement .

Pay teachers, you may get better teachers. Or you get teachers who can afford to continue their education.
