Insurance cos. like the status quo and why wouldn’t they?
they take 1/3 of the healthcare dollar for themselves;
they have carte blanche to determine who they will agree to cover and who they won’t;
they have carte blanche to determine what is appropriate medical care and what isn’t;
they have already demonstrated they don’t think twice about overruling patients’ physicians based on their own accountant’s rulings;
they’ve perfected the art of delay, bureaucratic bungling and wastefulness often leading to total denial of care, thus ever larger profits, because of death or increased patient morbidity directly caused by their delay
why would they want change or reform? we’ve given them an easy market to make huge profits and reward their folks who find ways to deliver the least amount of care possible …
