C Man: I can't believe it. Another unarmed black man killed by police. Man: In a few months they'll be cleared of all wrongdoing, and people will take to the streets blocking traffic... Man: Making MEEE late for work! DO NOT CROSS - POLICE LINE - Betsy: Hey, hey. You could catch up on SERIAL. Man: That doesn't make it RIGHT, Betsy!
Respectful Troll: with respect, I disagree. The attitude expressed in “a thin blue line between anarchy and mere daily life.” Is, IMO, a large part of the problem. In some ways, I think people were just as well off when there was a constabulary, and no organized police department. With miltarization, prosecutors in bed with the police, and both looking at the general population as a despised enemy, I’d be willing to lay off 90% of the cops (and end arrests for victimless crimes like drug use and prostitution).
