It’s hard to believe a banker would switch from blood to Dr. Pepper.

And those bankers who do get caught breaking laws go to the “nice” prisons. (Let’s not kid ourselves, nice prisons are still prison, it’s just a matter of degree.)

Actually, they are crimes. Lying to home buyers is a crime. Charging higher rates to minorities is a crime. Misrepresenting the terms of a loan is a crime. Falsely foreclosing on houses that you don’t have the deed for is a crime. But they don’t result in jail time, because prosecutors generally require the bank to pay a fine (which is usually small and deductable as a business expense), and the criminal gets off scot free, and continues in his job, because these crimes are profitable.

Well, I doubt if the Black guy would be there for stealing a Dr Pepper, he probably was caught with a joint and is doing 20 years. But, I doubt even more seriously that a couple thousand destroyed lives is going to put a banker away for 20 minutes.
If the candidate is getting their money from small donors or from unions, they are going to be working for middle class working people. If their donations are from corporationsor from 1%ers, don’t figure they are going to go against them and do anything for the middle class. It would be political suicide. And,that’s the way it’s going to be as long as the laws are written by people who owe their jobs to the rich. But it’s not that hard to stop them. We are the 99%—- that means we have the votes to elect people who will actually represent middle class workers and provide a safety net for those who are trying to get into the middle class.
We all need to know who is supporting the candidates. That is who they will be working for. They have no choice if they want to stay in office. You have to do the bidding of whoever who is paying your way, just the same as we all do in our jobs. So, before going to vote, look it up on the internet. Open Secrets is a good site, but there are plenty.

How many years did Charles Keating actually serve in prison? Last I heard, he was acting as financial advisor to Ted Turner.
When the SEC began to investigate Lincoln Savings & Loan, don’t forget the five U.S. senators, including John Glenn, (ALL of whom had received generous campaign contributions from Charles) who yanked the SEC off his back. After all the retirees lost their savings, and thousands of others lost millions, the KEATING FIVE only got a “censure” by their Senatorial colleagues. (OH WAIT, John Glenn then got a free ride on the Space Shuttle)

Great idea, let’s all vote together to get rid of the bad guys in the HoR. However, if we look at some of the posting to this very website, we’ll find a huge difference of opinion as to who the bad guys are that are ripe for voting out. I say vote out the republican/tea party. Who will vote with me against republicans and tea party?

Joseph: don’t forget it was Neil Bush at Silverado and the Keating scam who took big (huge) bucks away, and paid only a $70,000 fine.

A REAL Banker would be at “Club Fed”, with the sauna, the game room, the pool, and more.

Hafele–Keating; time flies when you’re having funds.

Don’t forget that one of the Keating Five was John McCain. Look how much he suffered as a result…..

Unlike almost every other politician involved in high finance, big business and managing the people’s money. It’s a big club. You may wish to swing a smaller bat if you hope to get on base. What they call “fanning” usually is a sign of striking out.
