Because the ACA really is about health care. The people who voted for it crafted it with great care, going over every word, sentence and paragraph many times to be sure that they got it just right. I’m only kidding. They never even read it before they put the rubber stamp to it. They aren’t lawmakers, they are professional politicians. This is just a dump-truck full of money backing up to the lawn. It’s your money, but it isn’t your lawn. Take two aspirin and call back in a month.

The people who “crafted it” were Republicans led by Mitt Romney. Perhaps the only thing that Mittens ever did that the people of Massachusetts were in favor of, it actually worked well there.

If that would be Harry Reid in the gas mask, my guess is that they still haven’t passed (or even voted on) a budget.

We should have universal healthcare like other nations have.

More correctly, it should be a Democrat up there saying “We’re not doing a thing until you fully fund Obamacare!”
    .
After all, yesterday it was the Democrats that REPEATEDLY voted against seperate CR bills to get various components of the government temporary funding including one vote of 164 against funding the Veteran’s Administration through December 15th.

The big, huge, gigantic thing that you’re missing here (in being correct), is that what Mitt did in his STATE is how it’s supposed to work. This kind of social service belongs to the states, not the federal government. The Founders understood this and that’s why they carefully crafted the Constitution to make our national government a very, very limited one. If a citizen doesn’t like the way one thing works in his or her state, they can either work hard to change it or move to another state… no passport or papers needed.

Because separate bills only support individual pet projects that those Congressmen support. They benefit THEIR constituents and not the nations best interest, which would be better served by passing a clean bill and then moving on.

What you said about health care could (and was) said about voting rights, segregation laws, and even slavery. Sometimes it takes a Federal law to bring various civil rights to the entire country.

In addition, national health care laws have repeatedly been declared constitutional by the US Supreme Court. If that were not the case, we would not have Medicare or Medicaid. Even the ACA has been declared constitutional by the current Republican-packed court.

I’ll ask it again: how does cancer or diabetes treatment necessarily have to be different depending on the state the patient lives in? Again, thanks in advance for answering this question for me.

This is all still an in house problem.
    .
It is when we refuse to pay our incurred debts to other nations that the poop will spread out.
Some of those defaulted nations will be upset, some will have their economies destroyed.
The dislike for Americans will be palpable. Violent in places. Even at home.

Well, it is true if you believe it, but True doesn’t always mean factual. I will presume you feel that religious fanatics are dangerous and stupid from your attitude and various small scars from handling divisive topics without adult supervision. What you learn today will serve you for the rest of your life, if you are able to learn anything new that does not conform to your indoctrination. You might be full. Good for you.

The ACA is a budgetary item. The CBO actually says it cannot be sustained as projected in the promises of The Candidate in Chief. The President does not dictate appropriations to Congress. Well, not legally anyway. But if there are no authorities to question your actions, then whatever you say is Gospel. Preach on, brother. I’m sure your day will come and Paradise will be yours, if only you sacrifice a handful of juvenile cancer patients so you can get your subsidy to pay 75% of your Obamacare when you have to get by on a paltry Senator’s salary. Unless you aren’t a Senator. Then, I must praise your ability to learn scripture. They must be very proud of you.
