May as well limit government by passing a Constitution. But criminals will still find a way around it. It’s what they do.

What about removing the middleman in executions then as well then?

I suppose that a gag about compulsory seatbelt wearing and motorcyclists helmets would also work.
Though, that tends towards Darwinian auto-regulation.

Dale Earnhardt’s death is often mentioned when compulsory motor racing safety is discussed

The argument is just as bogus with smoking as it would be with guns, and that’s the point of the cartoon. Suspend the liquor license if they allow people to smoke. If a person sells a gun to someone without a background check, slap them with a felony. Message delivered. Lives saved.

Perfection is impossible; therefore, no point in trying.

You can’t use cigarettes against smokers. You can use guns against criminals. And against tyrants. Seeings how neither criminals nor the State are disarming any time soon, I’ll keep my natural right to bear arms as codified by the Second Amendment.

here will always be people who won’t follow the laws of common sense so there needs to be a way to separate them from the community and possibly rehabilitate them.
We thought that exiling those types of people to a swamp on the border of Virgina and Maryland would be the answer, but somehow they took over the country from there.

Are you talking about immigration or the warrantless surveillance?

    Illegal immigrant?
    Illegal surveillance?

Yes, I am missing the point on purpose.

That’s funny, I agree with you.

If you cannot make useful laws and enforce them to make your cities and citizens safe, then in order to be effective, you must make laws that restrict the freedoms of people whose acts are not really criminal, but whose nature makes them more easily controlled. If you cannot be strong, then make yourself appear strong by picking on those weaker than yourself. If you cannot be god in heaven, then being god in he// is good enough.

George Bush hid them there. He also blows hot air into my car on sunny days to make it very warm, so I will believe that the heat from burning jet fuel, paper and office furnishing can accumulate to melt steal. He is insidious that way. I admire his tenacity and omnipresence.

Personal choice is what we extend to others when we exert legality to limit their choices. Government limits others where it forms laws, in addition to its purpose to act in the common good. Wherever its ability to limit personal choice exceeds its contributions to the common good, that is tyranny. So, too, does one who believes in government consider Constitutional limits on government as tyrannical. There is a balance. A government is a corporate individual whose self-importance often places its beliefs and choices ahead of other individuals which it considers inferior and subordinate to its will.

No Constitutional freedom to inflict cigarette smoke on fellow citizens. My handgun kills NO ONE, your cigarette smoke affects everyone, doofus.

The US Constitution, 2nd Amendment is to protect YOU and me from the oppression of government.
If the 2nd Amendment were written today: The right of the people to a well trained legal defense (access to a lawyer) shall not infringed. doofus.
