    The top sports reporter of the early 20th century, Grantland Rice, reported that Knute Rockne tried out the “win one for the Gipper” on him well before its actual locker room use. Rice advised against it, Rockne did it anyway. This seems to be standard operating procedure at Notre Dame.

    In general I turn off the TV when they start playing heart-tugging stories about athletes. Too much incentive to play them up.

    Not so long ago, a woman’s right to dignity and respect was one step above that of a slave..
    We still have a way to go – don’t expect the conservatives to help very much.

    @Dr Lou

    The so-called “liberal” media or the conservative media ??.
    IMO, our media is sensationalism based, money based.
    The truth need not apply.

    Not nearly enough people seem to care..
    But when “gun rights” hit the discussion table….then the fools are tripping over themselves.
