Pander to Victory. Sounds like a bumper sticker every person running for office can use. Don’t tell them the truth, tell them what they want to hear, then, after you’re elected, do what your donors want.
US government, the best government money can buy.
Who knew the first Terminators were going to be robo callers.
(use your best Ahr-nahld accent here) “I’ll call back.”
Thank you Ohio for taking all the robo calls us “less important states” aren’t getting. Though here in Virgina, we get a generous serving.
    Frustrated in Virginia,

Reporters have my sympathy in that they have to follow these two around watching the ordinary and hoping to hear a substantive comment that seldom comes.

Sad how the fate of the presidency rests in the hands of people in one midwestern state who can’t discern a votable difference between these two candidates.

“Reporters” do NOT have my sympathy. They no longer do any research or ask REAL questions. TV talking heads all have laptops on the ‘news’ desk yet don’t seem to know how to use them to look up any facts;often the laptops are used to report the latest tweets from viewers. “News” has become more about ratings than reality.

Actually, our two woman debate moderators have been quite good at asking questions and calling bullpucky.

I can agree with that, too.

But then you have to wonder: Whose fault is it, really? The problem with the media is that it gives us exactly what we want… and how many people tune in to the news thinking “I want to know the facts to make hard decisions”, rather than “I want to hear confirmation of what I already believe, and witty sound bites to yell at those guys I don’t like”?
It’s sad that these days the closest thing we have to true, impartial investigative reporting comes from COMEDY SHOWS.

“Don’t tell them the truth, tell them what they want to hear, then, after you’re elected, do what your donors want.”

Unfortunately, most voters say they want the truth but really just want to hear something that makes them feel good.

The truly sad part is the fact that “One Man-One Vote” is TOTAL B.S.!
A vote in California or Ohio, or Fla. is worth 3 or 4 votes in Wyoming, or Rhode Island!
The entire “Electoral College” concept is outmoded, blatantly unfair, and needs to be discarded, and the Presidential election decided SOLELY on popular vote!
You must win at least 50.1% of the total popular vote to be elected. PERIOD!

As long as people know “celebrities” by their first names (eg “Jen’s Heartbreak”; “Kelly’s New Love”) but don’t know the name of their Senator, we will reap what they sow.

Admiral Hyman Rickover said: “Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.”

What’s the number-one-selling magazine in the world? Hint: it ain’t called “Ideas”.

Best of luck getting people to research and think for themselves. Better to look like Santa Claus. Look what happened to Mondale when he admitted that taxes would have to be raised if he was president. After his defeat, Reagan raised taxes several times, but at least he didn’t TELL us he was going to do it before the election.

In a nutshell, “news” is about selling advertising.

You are incorrect. The electoral system is a magnificent protection against regionalism or in this case Big Statism, and the founders should be thanked for coming up with it.

Baloney! Explain how by winning 6 or 7 key states, a candidate can be elected president with a minority of the popular vote!
How the hell is THAT fair??
