I’m thankful for what I have and what little the government lets me keep after taxes.

I’m thankful that my tax rate is less than half what it was under Eisenhower! I wish we could be thankful there are no wars, and ALL our kids in the service of country were in the safety of their homes on this holiday.

Rush did his annual reread of the First Thanksgiving in the new world…the Mayflower group led by Bradford and the disastrous first year experiment with socialism that killed half the colonists. Bradford then tried free enterprise and the colony prospered. They celebrated with a day of Thanking God for His blessings…..a Biblical Old Testament Jewish practise. God is merciful because He loves each human and is not willing for any of us to perish. But He has given us the choice—-free will—-which means that not all will inherit eternal life blessings….I hope more people will choose to put Faith in God and His Written Word, the Bible, and the only possible Saviour, God the Son….Jesus Christ.

Wait…wait a moment, where have I heard this before?

I had just scoffed at ScottPM for saying something similar on another thread. And here I read it again from the strange lady; but I now have a clue: Rush Limbaugh!
lolololololol It must be fun (or worrisome?) living in the US, listening to these nutters all the time. Your own freakshow.

Many of us have just began to ignore the nutters. Fortunately they do not represent a cross section of the population. The average IQ is somewhat higher. Something to be thankful for.

OMQ R and many others threw out the Bible and writings of Christian history of the first European settlers sailing to the new world. Just as they throw out the writings of the intellectuals among our nation’s Founders….and replace those records of history with revised textbooks written by authors aiming to discount & destroy what they do not like.

Google and its ilk are no substitute for what has been trashed.
What goes in is what comes out. Junk is Junk even with a mask of “scholarship” and arrogant assumptions on things the writers have no knowledege firsthand and cannot prove in any lab.

If an ‘above average’ IQ person tells other people to ‘shut up’ I question the point system they use.

Heh, I can imagine disgustedtaxpayer wearing one of those “Repent ye sinner, the end is nigh!” signs and furiously brandishing religious placards on street corners. Hopefully she gets it out of her system here and doesn’t harass anyone out in the streets.

I give thanks for what I have and pay my fair share of taxes. So many that consider it a huge burden, they whine, moan and object, but don’t really think or try to know what they receive in return. Especially the red states that put in so little, and take out so much.

I’ve always imagined her standing on a soap box in Speakers’ Corner of Hyde Park screaming hellfire and brimstone at all and sundry.
