Doug wanted to drop nukes on China. Rumsfeld and Cheney changed the UCMJ to include others than the CIC, like the Secretary of Defense, but Generals ARE supposed to know what the UCMJ says. I know what many in the military were saying about Bush and Cheney, but they didn’t say it in the press. Self inflicted wounds ARE grounds for court martial.

My first response to reading the news about Gen. McChrystal’s interview was a “What was he thinking?”
Ironically, I think Obama probably really didn’t have any problems with how McChrystal handled Afghanistan… but after the public screwup and the public announcement he (McChrystal) was handing in his resignation there wasn’t anything Obama could do. Not accepting it would make him look like a complete pushover.
