    Is this Comic even syndicated in ANY newspapers? I heard it is a webcomic, but it is in a larger syndicate, so I’ve wondered.

    Nice burn on yourselves.

    Also, more proof that Maria = Rita.

    @Sack of Rabid Weasels

    The Creators have said she isn’t, if you backlog a bit you’ll find her older self from the future, which looks more like Carolina, but most importantly ISN’T Carolina as well. These characters are (so far) independent of Working Daze.

    Maria wishes she did. Just wait until your comic strip collections get published and hit the best seller list (or is that just my wishful thinking?)…

    and this would be why I only own C&H books. They were the only authorized merchandise, and as said many of the rip offs were extremely crass. BTW good to see you Hobbes ol’ buddy!

    BTW Maria, If you think your folks are anti-commercial you should meet Calvin’s Dad.

    My Mom used to get the calendar, but that was discontinued after the renegotiated contract. I thought that was a shame. It reprinted entire Sunday strips, one per month, so it didn’t really take the characters out of context. It was not unlike the books in smaller doses. I couldn’t see why BW didn’t let that one alone.
    You know what? We had the original PEANUTS calendars when I was a kid. I thought they were great, Schulz supervised them, and they didn’t harm my appreciation of the strip at all. I think the TV specials began to do that- they went off in a different direction from the strip. Should have stopped after the first few.

    Rita was probably more like Sue as a kid. Maria has more imagination.

    Yep, we know we don’t have C&H size readership. I doubt Bill Watterson is even reading. I’ve heard that he’s not a big fan of the internet, and Maria appears in approximately zero newspapers.

    I’m getting the impression Watterson is coming out of retirement what with the “Pearls” strips , this and other strips referencing ( and reverencing ) him. Hope so.

    Maria is all for crass commercialism.

    I never thought about all of those Calvin stickers on pickup trucks. I knew they weren’t authorized and they were in bad taste. People using those stickers and others are trying to say something about how rebellious they are when they probably aren’t.

    Well, we don’t know if he’s even aware of our strip. Those drawings are done by me…

    She might think so now, but we would settle for at least being able to make a living at this. Bill Watterson could have made many times the money he was- he had the opportunity and chose to walk away. But even so, he was doing a whole lot better than we are. He left before the internet figured out that cartoonists are expected to work for almost nothing- and less if possible. Sure! We don’t eat. We don’t have homes to pay for and bills to pay. We’ll do it for free!!!
