in the south, some aspects of mario kart happen, like people intentionally running over turtles that cross the road.

Heartless. Actually, a few years ago I was visiting friends. Their son wanted to play chess. He had me in a check that Charlie Brown could’ve gotten out of in one move; but he insisted it was checkmate- and they advised me to let him win. I argued it a little- sounded like a formula for a spoiled kid- but they were the parents and they got their wish. I still don’t think it was a good idea to delude him.

    Was that kid a wookie?

No, he wasn’t big enough to pull off a droid’s arm. I never thought that moment made Chewbacca a sympathetic character!

Truth be told, I would have thought Herman would be found tied to the chair or something, and the house a wreck by the time the folks got home.

It’s never good to spoil children. Even worse when parent select just one to spoil. I always tried to treat my 3 boys and final girl equally (although I loved having a girl to sew for). Before her, I had made blue velvet blazers for the boys for Easter. Being the youngest child and a girl, she was spoiled anyway (by big brothers and dad).

She just married for 3rd time and I hope it holds. She has 1 child each from the other 2. I met the love of my life a year after my divorce (1976) and we just got together last year. It’s still one sided, but . . . whatever. I don’t want anyone else!

He’s still taller (just right) when I’m wearing 4" heels).

No, not turtles! No wonder the box turtles are rare now.

That’s ridiculous! He’s part of the “everyone is special/there are no losers” wussification of America. I think it’s ridiculous. Kids need to learn how to deal with disappointment, deal with losing, learn that they need to work to get ahead, etc, and that’s not happening the way those parents are “raising” their kid. Sad…
