or, a nightmare in calc 101 class of the second derivative of the double integral. or, a final exam on the principles of six sigma. or, an essay on the philosophical meaning of james joyce Odysseus, or camus the stranger.

A good decimal point will defeat any fraction.

I took Library Arts … and had a dream where I was on the Star Ship Enterprise… and the only way I could run any of the controls was with the Dewey Decimal System!

That’s because half the public have little math aptitude, half aren’t being served by the educational system, while the remaining half just aren’t trying.

Give me decimal notation over fractions any day of the week. Except those ending in “y.”

For the progression to hold, the 9/16 should have been 11/16.

It wasn’t necessarily a progression. That would be too ordered for a dream. And to Maria they don’t make sense anyway. After it was done, I thought maybe I should’ve thrown in one like 10/3, to show that she doesn’t really get it.

I know that I don’t seem to have any problem with fifths. I think we all need at least one.

I think you are right about that. There are bad teachers, and also at the time math is cranking up, in 7th grade, boys are starting football and are distracted by that.
