    I never had to write a book report in my heavily sports-oriented public school in Michigan. Things must be very different in other areas of our country. These activities centered around books I read about here in the comics seem strange to me.

    I can’t speak for John, but I wrote plenty. And I was one of those who could imitate the cover art of the book for the cover of my report. One that sticks in the memory is ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN.

    I wrote a few and illustrated them. Though that was before I decided to become a writer so it didn’t look like “A” material. Wrote a book report on “Brave New World” wish I still had it.
