You’ve never worked with a client who wants the moon, has no clue how – or if – it can be done. As far as the home ower knows, that’s lilac, and tha’ts what I want.

Just scan the chip and the machine will tell you what to mix.

I used to go into paint stores and ask for a quart of purple & yellow polka dot paint. Got some good reactions, especially from the clueless kids.

Red & white striped paint to repaint a barber pole was good, too – I always wanted the paint that goes on with the stripes on the diagonal when you brush it on up and down. Once was asked if I wanted clockwise or counterclockwise stripes. 8^)

If you mix the scent with the right sort of paint it might work. How are scratch-and-sniff patches made in the real world?

Go do it – it’s a hoot. Just keep a straight face and be prepared for a lot of “Huh Whut” reactions. But having a guy (usually older) who twigs to the gag is priceless.

Used to have a paint store chain in Chicago (now defunct) that kept costs down by buying former grocery stores. Sherwin Williams still has stores, or try any big box home improvement store. Oh, heck try them all.
