BIG NEWS from Dick Tracy writer Mike Curtis: “In about a week, we’ll be making an announcement about the big summer story adventure in TRACY, starting June 1. While Joe Staton does some art for that, I’ll go ahead and announce that around July, one Sunday Tracy will crossover once again. This time with the famous radio duo LUM AND ABNER. Donnie Pitchford does the Sunday Lum and Abner comic strip.”

Thank you, Alan! I can’t wait to see how Joe Staton draws Lum and Abner! I’ve enjoyed his work since the days when he and Nicola Cuti produced “E-Man” for editor George Wildman at Charlton Comics!

Hi, Donnie. No I don’t get notifications, I just check back. Yes, Staton is a perfect fit for Dick Tracy. It will be interesting to see his take on Lum and Abner. Have you seen his recent Mary Perkins? Well done I thought. You could do your own Dick Tracy take off to coincide with theirs. Glad to hear you might use my suggestion. I know it’ll be fun.

Yes, Alan, I’ve been following since Joe and Mike took over. Really enjoy the strip! I’ve been reading it since age five (1963). Well, of course, Mr. Gould was still doing it then… Yes, I scripted a few strips while my wife was in a doctor appointment, and I worked out your idea which will either be this coming Sunday or the next.
