When Republicans are involved, I wouldn’t be surprised.

You guys kill me. OPinions are like anal orfices, everyone has one and they all stink!
Let’s go back furthur, say to LBJ (D) and the increase and expansion of the welfare state. THAT was the beginning of the downfall. He started the creation of a society of freeloaders.
Thanks for bringing politics into a fun comic strip. Nice way to ruin it!

GOP loving Republicans in office are the reason why everything is so messed up.
catzilla23 said, 5 months ago
Okay. The Republicans want to cut the wages of the working class, so they can’t afford any of the goods or services of people in business, who will then in turn go broke. What am I missing here?

Sundogusa and jazzlily are lackeys of the Slavers. Everybody else is right on today!!!

@sundogusa
The beginning of the downfall was the Viet Nam/Laos/Cambodia war not welfare. The same with the past 10 yar wars costing a trillion each and the great expansion of the National Security state with in and the external Empire. That and the bail out of the criminals involved in nearly tanking our country in 2008.

I know, the subtleties of economic reality are beyond most “progressives,” but let’s try something here: are you familiar with the concept of “supply and demand”? Do you comprehend, even vaguely, that when more people have more money, prices of things they buy goes up? Do you see how that can run into a vicious cycle? Now: do suspect yet that there may be some connection between the exploding inflation of the last 50 years and the general rise in wages? Everyone is making more money, yes, but everything costs more too. Put it another way: what you make at your minimum-wage job today would been an upper-middle class income in 1950. No, I’m not saying that’s the only cause: as above, these things are subtle and complex. But it is all connected, and you can’t pull one thread without disturbing the blanket, and the law of unintended consequences is as severe and immutable as the law of gravity.

An Ice cream shop once sat next to my store. They where only open part of the year. They where very very busy. They shut down after minimum wage went up. One factor was the guy did not want to update the store so that it did not sit so close to the road. But the other reason is he only hired high school kids at Minimum wage. To hire those kids for the next summer would have made everything cost more and he just deiced not to do that closed down.
Now we have Obamacare limiting hours people can work.

One if you plan on living off min wage you are an idiot. 2 if you are making min wage now a days my guess is you are being paid to much.
