Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for November 11, 2016
Transcript:
Luann: Stop being such a frump, Bernice! Do something spontaneous for once! Bernice: Ugh! Ok, fine!! We'll go hang with those guys! Bernice: But on our terms! not a date. Not rock climbing. Bowling. One game. No lingering after. Separate checks, separate cars. Luann: Wow! so spontaneous. Bernice: Hey, I can plan spontaneity just like that!
I don’t know maybe just having non-committed “hanging out” with clearly set boundaries is an example of growth. Usually both Luann and Bernice fall like chopped down trees when they become enamored of some guy, attainable or not, and the situation controls them, rather than the other way around. These guys are arguably harmless, and want to have fun with a couple of interesting girls. I doubt if romance will ensue, but being able to just hang out is, possibly, a stage progression. My two cents.
