    Tuck your shirt in, Quill. Mrs. Berger doesn’t tolerate sloppily dressed tenants. At least your collar button is still fastened, Gunther-style.

    Well, Quill is safe from Luann, Mrs. Berger, and Frank!.. For now….

    Could Nancy’s huge sigh of relief be related to memories of how Brad came to be?

    If we take the literal dialogue balloons and “muted” them, and inserted new dialogue/story cues, then we’d have:

    Luann could be relieved because when Quill goes and says “excuse me” , he really means it, and she doesn’t have a large enough “tree” to counteract and freshen the air…

    Quill is saying it, because he sees that Mrs. Berger fell asleep watching the special: “How Paint Dries”, during a PBS telethon, and she cant throw any cookies at alarming speeds at his head, so he literally dodged the bullet…

    Nancy is saying it, because she was afraid that she’d lose in the deal that she and Frank made, about whether or not Luann got home on time…. And Nancy said she’d never want to go down that road and have to wear clown shoes and do the Macarena ever again!….

    Kind of anti-climactic.
    I guess this means Luann made curfew, and Frank none-the-wiser.

    @Meh~tdology

    Probably. But he probably had a curfew for them (maybe 1 A.M., though it would almost have seemed like 2) to account for any “missing” time which would lead him to think things, and that’s probably what had Nancy so relieved.. she probably felt a tiny bit worried, herself… not just because of Frank going off for anything, but maybe it alleviated her own fears that she’s too “cool” to let on about….

    It would still end with a squeak even it Luann had spent the evening naked in the middle of a lumber camp.

    Ahhh… Hello?? Quill is at Luann’s and Luann is driving to Gunter’s.

    @seismic-2

    Then that would be a "squeak and a streak!…

    And Quill “got away” squeaky clean" again!…

    Lu does seem to also “squeak by”, herself, sometimes… like someone’s writing her an escape every time….heh heh……

    Quill calls Luann about noon the next day: “About last night, maybe we ought to cool it for awhile. We have gotten serious enough, and something might happen.”
