LUANN is about the trials of becoming a young adult: the hilarity and drama, triumphs and flops, friendships and rivalries. Rich in character and intriguing "what'll happen next?!" stories, LUANN is a compelling saga of life's most volatile stage. Greg Evans was voted Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 2003 by the National Cartoonists Society.

Extinction. It’s a nasty word, but an event that takes place in our world. As the jungles in South America are razed to make room for the exploding human population, species become extinct. Some extinctions are fast, like the dinosaurs being wiped out after being around millions of years. Some are slow, like the species that cannot adapt to an ever changing world and over generations vanish. It is one of the slow extinctions I talk about now. Mom and Dad, Bernice, Delta, Fogarty and Phelps, and even Puddles are a disappearing species. One time they carried almost half the strip. Now they are dwindling away. There are no longer stories involving them. They appear only in minor support roles. I do not know whether it is because Mr. Evans can no longer come up with stories for them, or if he has simply lost interest in them, but either way, the strip loses out because of it.

Apparently, the Dergroots are somewhat ignorant of the realities of timezones.

I hope they settle this peaceably, without hurting Quill.

When I was 15 I began a long-distance relationship with my to-be first husband, beginning as pen-pals. Aside from a few weeks just after we finally met, it was all mail — as he went off to work, then drafted and sent to Viet Nam. Skype would have been wonderful to have back then!! We didn’t even have cell phones. Kids today have no idea how lucky they are!

@Leviticus
What’s the name of the strip again? And would the title character get featured most of the time?

She doesn’t wear lip gloss anymore when she talks to Quill. HAHA. It’s hell to get off the computer screen. :)

Qwerty’s not entirely wrong…it’s just Greg Evans won’t go there, so such speculation is essentially impossible. If Luann was gonna get some, it’d be well off screen like Brad and Toni

…
As time goes by, she’ll wear less and less.
…
Sidenote: It’s nearly winter – Frank and Nancy are dressed for colder weather while Luann is the only one that appears to be “stripped down for racing.”
