    A lawyer would say that she technically did ask for permission first, I guess…

    Plus, never give ’em a chance to say no, Lol!

    If I were a parent I’d deduct a bit from her allowance if I had to pick up after her.

    If my brother or I did not pick up our messes and we reached the breaking point, Mom would “help” us by knocking everything off our shelves and then toss our mattress on the top of the pile.

    A sort of “you made your bed, now sleep in it” statement.

    @Eldric IV

    I’ll have to remember this trick for when my son is older.

    It could also be like the episode of “….Raymond”, where there’s the “tug of war” to whom is going to pick it up…. even though the parent will see that there is only one choice…. some treat it like a battle- who will be the one? The parent who works to keep the standard of orderliness who gives in and does it? Or the kid whose job it is to pick up their messes, like everybody else…

    Sadly, when I worked at a school in the cafeteria, I saw that these kids also did the same thing…. a few in particular left a pile of juice on the table and floor, with bits of torn up paper in the midst of it, another section had their messes as well… I thought about: "What home training did they have? " “Or did they somehow think it wasn’t important once they left the house?” As I moved to clean up their messes as I earned my paycheck…

    And don’t get me started on some adults in going out to a restaurant who leave more mess than it would seem necessary… all because “someone gets paid to clean up our after-fun!”… same for in the public park, or the store….I’ve been in Walmarts and Targets and once in a while grocery stores and have seen some…. trifiling things, to say the least…. even in the good ones in the suburbs!…
