    Can Mushpits handle hard caves?

Yes, yes! It has to be the Mushpits, not bothering to hide their true nature from the Assembly. For now they know where to look for their, and our, archenemy, Flimm! And they have the Power!
    D-Day draws nigh.

Free the [remaining] Taken. DESTROY Flimm.

Now Flimm’s cave is going to be transformed into a pit o’ mush.

Just wanted to thank those of you who’ve been following this thing. I really appreciate the support. It amazes me to think I have followers interested in this sort of format (on a comic strip site no less), let alone sharp, attentive readers who not only read my stuff but also make me smile and build my confidence.
But I’m really sorry to say that this is probably going to be the last week of LSOS for a while. As most of you probably know, this isn’t my real job. I’ve been able to balance teaching and Lost Side, but now I’ve got some new projects on the horizon that are going to eat up most of my non-teaching time. The main one has been brewing since last spring, and is why I missed a week in June, and now things are happening fast.
So I’m going to disappear at the end of this chapter. There’s only one chapter left in The Bogey after this (Hallelujah!) and I’ve already started drawing the next story, but I’m going to wait until my schedule clears before I start posting. The weekend updates were to squeeze the rest of this chapter in before I started my new non-Lost Side work, as I think the end of this chapter is a good leave-off point.

    Kory—
I’ve developed a morning routine where I get to the office 20 minutes early, read a few blogs, and save LSOS as my last free, happy moment before I plunge into work. Sometimes I complain to myself that the exposition doesn’t move fast enough; sometimes that there’s repetition — and yet every morning I’m back for the next episode.

Thank you for giving such wonderful pleasure to your readers and good luck in your new endeavors. I hope you’re wildly successful and can soon return to LSOS. Your many readers — nay, your family — eagerly await your return.

Do what you need to do Kory, but if you are away for too long, I’ll set Rafer Frost onto you.

Thanks for the ride! Hope the day job pays enough bills that we can see you back here again some time.

Now that I’m awake, I’ll give a bit more detail. This commitment I mentioned: I’m pretty pumped about it! It involves a new franchise, and I get to work with one of the biggest names in children’s entertainment, someone who has had a string of hit books, movies, and is just an all-around awesome person. I really want this to work out, and I hope to make an impression, so I’m setting LSoS aside until I finish a few of the projects with this franchise.
One of the projects is a syndicated newspaper comic strip that stars characters created by this mystery author. I’m slated as the illustrator, and the writer is already a successful syndicated cartoonist. If you’re a comic strip fan, you’ve probably heard of him.
Another related project is a graphic novel with the same characters.
And finally, unrelated to the franchise, Andrews McMeel has approached me about writing and illustrating a non-fiction book. Details are sketchy, nothing is definite, but it’s another potential delay for Lost Side Suburbia.
So I’m really sorry for those of you who’ve been so loyal and awesome to me. Honestly, I was never crazy about the GoComics format for Lost Side, since it’s really not a comic and the one page a day makes it slow where it should be fast, but aside from a few whiny brats who can’t seem to figure this out, my experience with Uclick and FunBrain has been really positive, so I’d like to finish The Bogey and do at least one more story for GoComics.
For those of you who will wait (and I don’t blame you if you bail – sorry to drag you along and then leave just before the end) I’ll try to update my website (link to the right) when I have a better idea of when I’ll post the final Bogey chapter and start the next story. Right now I’m thinking January, as I’ve got some deadlines to hit before Christmas. And feel free to email me if I’m slow to update the site, or if you want to know if Goatsucker is really dead.
Thanks again for the support! Now off to school!

    Kory,
The best of luck on your new endeavors, but like others, reading LSoS is a major part of my morning routine.
I’ll hold my breath about Goatsucker’s fate, and re-read The Bogey during your absence.
Thank you for the wild ride!

Thanks, Kory. I’m glad things are looking up for you and you have to take advantage of what sounds like an incredible opportunity (or opportunities). I, like the rest, will miss LSOS, but that just means you have been creating incredible stories and art—otherwise, people wouldn’t be so willing to wait for what comes, and when it comes.

So, just to be certain, is this the last strip or is there going to be a few more posts before the hiatus?
