    Well… there were two fairies who escaped (yay!)… and there are two Mushpits… but I’m leaning toward the fairies.

    Trullus’ treacherous twin tattletales.

    Follow the flashing fairies!
    Oh, Rufus, what heartbreak lies ahead for you?

    Love the creatures on the rock and in the water!

    And I’m not sure yet what I think of Lucius either…

    Lucius – yeah, he’s… intense. (Does Lucius have ‘control over’ Margo? She’s probably fascinated by him in the same way she’s fascinated by Stretch Armless.)

    This has been one extraordinary journey for our pal, Rufus. He’s not the same kid who left to look for his sister so long ago. (And tomorrow’s Friday – aaargh.)

    Loads of ‘iffy’ things about Lucius, Forest-runner. Just can’t be sure about him; but I think he’s just totally focused on getting his daughter, Regina, back. (And if she’s dead… Lucius will want Flimm all for himself.)

    I like the silhouettes of the four of them today, too – Margo is serving as a ‘bridge’ between Lucius and the boys. (And cool ‘hidden’ creatures, J2P2; always fun to look for them!)

    …yes, Rufus, you’re not the only one unsure of Lucius; VERY singleminded. I suspect he’d sacrifice all of them to get what he wants…watch your back…

    Guesses:
    1. Lucius is father figure to Margo
    2. Rufus’s concern for Goatsucker. (She ain’t dead)
    3. Lucius saves Goatsucker.

    @Bailey

    Well, I was thinking that two dots of light are usually two eyes (of some big and scary creature), but now I think of it, in this swamp there are any amount of eyes available… and those two aren’t really at the same height… so probably fairies, indeed.

    Ditto re the fairies (or pixies); there was one yellow and one pink, remember, the same colors as the lights we see now. Also, Goatsucker freed one and Lucius the other (though it happened by accident), so they just may become allies to our gang.

    @Sisyphos

    While I had been eager to see our gang again, I got a knot in my own stomach, thinking about how they will react when they learn Goatsucker’s fate, Rufus most of all. That may be at least as horrible, and I’m dreading it.

    @jadoo823

    Way back, Bill had warned our gang against seeking Lucius’s help; when we met Lucius, it was clear that Bill wasn’t exaggerating. You’re always on shpilkes with Lucius; it’s a bit like trying to navigate ground that is strewn with landmines. I’m not sure if he’d go so far as to sacrifice his companions, but one wrong step…

    … and hopefully find a way to save our sweet girl.
