    Heckbender: “I call her ‘Mariah’.”

To continue with your earlier jokes on internet porn, Heckbender: “Actually, that’s a fake cover I glued onto a porno mag. It’s not really called ‘the Giver’.”

I call this one Tess, and this one’s Joe…but there ain’t no name for Lonely—he’s my pet cockroach over there. Ok, he’s got a name, but he won’t come when he’s called.

Maybe margo will come to the rescue? she seems to be a good story teller

Possibly, but I think this sweet girl has much intelligence, and stories in her, too… and that Heckbender craves companionship — and meaning — even more than he craves a snack.

LOVE the artwork, today. Really do.

Perhaps Ms Chupe can buy some time by telling Hecbender a story about some Takers.

Funny…I’ve never read The Giver, but my kids did in school. It’s on my shelf over at Goodreads to-read.

If you’re done singing, finish painting your wagon.

I never have either (didn’t really know about it until LSoS). I guess because it is a kids book and I was not paying much attention to those books when it was published. Looks interesting.
Now “The Giving Tree,” though old, is one that I grew up with…;-)

So you had been hoping just as I was! Yes, I knew that story was going to be important in this tale of Takers, as I had said yesterday. And, unfortunately, I had also anticipated that Goatsucker would not be able to read. On the other hand, she does have a staggering tale of her own to tell, if Heckbender will only hear her out.

Read it, didn’t like it… though I’ve loved most of his other stuff.

Indeed she does… and he has curiousity and boredom abounding, doesn’t he? Methinks he’s putty… a bit… thank goodness!

Heckbender wants to be read to. So it wants to be more than a monster.
