   Goatsucker has shown an ability to sense Taker presence. If Periwether was tied to Takers at all closely, GS would at least feel somewhat more uneasy about hanging around the house. On the other hand, GS gorged herself on rats before noticing the influence of the Piper, so maybe Piper has a sister that specializes in squirrels…
