Welcome to a land of strange stories and weirdly-spun yarn, where oddities and unmentionables lurk behind every tale. Here you will witness the plight of the mysterious Heckbender, suffer the misadventures of Derring-Do Dan, learn the unsettling secret of the Slynderfell Ice Cream Cavalcade, and behold the unraveling of The Bogey. A word of caution: stay on the sidewalks, avoid shortcuts through Halfrock Swamp, and do NOT under any circumstances make business transactions with C. Percival Trullus.

Him! Unless she is Miss Taken.

TSOJ – I knew of those Counterculture flavours, but as they were not Slynderfel… I see I have to pay more attention to the question.

@waycyber
I chose the wording specifically for this case.

Slynderfell would rather deal with an alien child eater than Oggalulu. At least he has his priorities straight.

Probably that alien (if that is alien to Slynderfell…) child-eater is more dangerous to disobey.

Will we get our first proper look at Flimm?

Open call for help.
I’m trying to identify the references in this panel in the Cankerbury Inn. Specifically I’m looking for the name of the girl in the picture to the left of the vase, and the blue creature in the right-hand photo. However, feel free to name the others as a sanity check.

Now, now, Leeshkin! Is that anyway to mutter about your mountainous wife?! If Flimm it is that calls, is not Flimm dis-(or more precisely, un-)embodied? So, does the Sound of Flimm have a “where” whither Slynderfell and Kreelit must go?

Oggalulu’s wedding ring matches Slyndy’s eyes. But he’s not wearing anything..

I believe the creature on the right is a Henson creation. I cannot remember where from, but I do remember it was like an over-the-top horror movie villain, with much hand rubbing and laughter.

The muppet-like creature looks very much like the evil muppet with a change of heart in The Muppets, but that came out two years after the subject panel was published. Hmmm. The portrait looks like the Rankin Bass version of Bilbo Baggins, but I’m sure that’s not who it is…so I guess I’m really no help at all.

The picture on the left of the vase is Hoodoo the Unwise Owl. I think the picture to the right of the vase may be called Horace.

@Three Steps Over Japan
Yep. Horace from Dark Side of the Horse

Why do I imagine the voice of that owl from the rats of nim?

@Three Steps Over Japan
The blue creature is Uncle Deadly, from The Muppets
