Welcome to a land of strange stories and weirdly-spun yarn, where oddities and unmentionables lurk behind every tale. Here you will witness the plight of the mysterious Heckbender, suffer the misadventures of Derring-Do Dan, learn the unsettling secret of the Slynderfell Ice Cream Cavalcade, and behold the unraveling of The Bogey. A word of caution: stay on the sidewalks, avoid shortcuts through Halfrock Swamp, and do NOT under any circumstances make business transactions with C. Percival Trullus.

Hmm.

Cross between the Grimm’s witch from Hansel & Gretel and Baba Yaga?

Great, make the witch Russian, my ancestors would be sooo proud of this! Still, they really should have seen this one coming, candy house in the middle of the forest? Anyways; who will save the boys from this candyland nightmare? I can’t wait for Tomorrow to find out!

So, there are allsorts of takers. The witch may be mean, but she could also have a soft centre. Of course, she has a vulnerability – VEGETABLES!

If there are this many takers and predators out there, why hasn’t anyone noticed the oddly empty houses and missing people…
Just a thought -

Would be weird if that turned out to be a regular-if-ugly friendly old woman.

Maybe they are like Rufus and Biff’s parents, they just don’t remember them, after all it seems Takers have the power (at least Rafer Frost does) to wipe memories, maybe people remember them and know them one day, following morning their memories are gone and maybe, just maybe and this is what I believe in people who were almost taken themselves but managed to escape like Biff and Rufus are able to see them, like Margo, maybe she was almost taken but was able to somehow escape, the only one who knows for sure it’s Mr. Merritt and he isn’t telling, at least not all at once!

Old Gypsy Woman, her image and description and speech-characteristics say to me. May yet turn out to be a Friendly, although I must admit the magicked candies aren’t seeming too friendly….

Because they forgot the people were ever there, of course.

In my country, it has pointed out how many, many farmhouses are staying empty, because people have moved to cities in seek of jobs and other facilities (or so they think). And also, that the population has been decreasing, due to people not having as many children anymore for economical reasons (again, so they think).
But now I know the true reason behind both…

She is trying to be friendly, but would she give you her last Rolo?
